so there are two schools of thought on this thread:
a 65 w cigarrette charger will do the trick
but this 200 w inverter might be overkill but it will never disapoint you

But consider the inverter for other purposes, too. OP lives somewhere in Texas, so there's either hurricanes or tornados, or frozen power grids somewhere in the future. Charge a bunch of phones at once with an extension cord, etc. The most expensive 200w version I see on Amazon is $32.
We don't have to drive around with the inverter in the front seat all the time, just plug it in when you're on a little 90 minute drive somewhere, top off the laptop, and stick it back in the organizer in the trunk until it's needed again.
True.

And I get that. There’s obviously a usage case for an inverter. But inverter + OEM power cable is a lot of bulk. But again, if it’s needed, it’s needed. But the average office a-hole can get by on the same USB cable they plug into their phone, and I think the average tech know-little doesn’t realize that.

True, so he needs an inverter with USB C to reduce the bricks.

So I’d like tn ask again. Because I’m clueless.
All I do is zoom vids and emails.
