Need new Ford APIM for f150

I have a 2019 f150 with sync3. My APIM has all the symptoms of it going out. The ford dealership is quite proud of them if you get it there.

Does anyone have any experience buying a used one and swapping it out or getting a refurbished one?

I know they have to be programmed to your VIN. Can i do that or can only dealership do that?

What are the symptoms? My 2010 occasionally loses connection after shutting the truck off and am wondering if this is in my future
