Please help this old feeble man out- to get NBC on direct TV I can get on ESPN+? If I buy an antenna (as some suggest in other posts) where do I get it and do I attach it to the TV like the old rabbit ears days? Where does it plug in? I have Hulu and Paramount but can never seem to get the games to come up. I really appreciate any help. Thank you

There is a lot to breakdown in this post. I'm not sure I understand everything but here goes:
NBC is a local OTA channel. On DirecTV this will be in the local channels section (channel numbers below 100). You can find NBC there unless direcTV has stopped carrying your local NBC affiliate.
You cannot get NBC on ESPN+. There is no relationship between the two. Do not pay for ESPN+ to get something from another network.
The way antennas work hasn't changed. They are all still the same. They connect to the coax port on the back of your TV and then you will need to have the TV scan for "air" channels (not cable).
What games? Why are these relevant?

If you have Hulu, you should be able to go to Live. Find either, ABC, NBC or CBS which should be right at the beginning of the guide. You should have been able to watch Colorado vs TCU.

Very true, my bad! If he doesn't it is worth getting Hulu+TV for sure!

I might be wrong here, but do they still put coax connections on the back of tv's(newer)?

That game was on Fox if I remember correctly. It would not have appeared on either platform other than Hulu live but there is no reason to have Hulu Live if you already have directv.

Yes. Newer TVs should be rolling out with ATSC 3.0 tuners, too, so that you can next generation OTA channel quality like improved audio and I think HLG HDR.
EDIT: Just checked and ATSC 3.0 introduces higher quality dolby audio and 4k HDR programming. It should also support 8k if the move to 8k ever happens.
