Projector for outside use (side of barn)

I want to project movies and maybe games (Switch 2) outside on our pole barn, for the kids. Is there any particular cheap ($250-350) smart tv (I prefer Roku but GoogleTV ok) projector that’s better than others?
Is there any reason to shell out the $1300+ for a laser one? I know true 4k etc but just for goofing around w the kids in the yard and on camping trips, doesn’t seem worth it unless someone tells me my mind will be blown.

I haven't looked in years but the $30 used DLPs would easily beat $400 new units at that time outside of total darkness. You can slap a streaming box to it like I do as long as it has HDMI.
New technologies have probably come down by now but make sure it's at least 2000+ ANSI lumen. Must be ANSI or RUN. I think mine is 2000/3000 low/high. I mostly use low but it has to be fairly dark and that's with a proper screen that I have anchors in the side of the house for.

You aren't getting 4k for 1300 bones. But IMHO firing on the side of a barn, i'd scrape facebook marketplace and get something with a bulb, they are way brighter and the chinese knockoff bulbs have gotten alot better. You'll need a firetv stick or something to plugin to it, but that cost is negligible.

Epson EpiqVision Flex CO-FH02 Full HD 1080p Smart Streaming Portable Projector, 3-Chip 3LCD, 3,000 Lumen
I bought the model before this one back in the summer. I like it. You don't have to have the room be 100% dark to see it. I'm satisfied for the price.
