Keep an eye open for the 100% off discount that Nordstrom and some of the other expensive boutique clothing stores have from time to time.

They’ve set it up nicely, think of it like supermarket sweep where you have about 60 seconds to go in and grab as much as you can.

Take the Big Bus tour. get on the bus early in the morning to get a seat on the top. It sucks at the bottom.
This will be the best value of your whole trip. The best way to see all of San Fran. Wear layers. We literally went from being chilly 50 degrees to warm high 70s in less than 30 minutes on the bus in different parts of town.

definitely see the Haight and the peninsula. Chinatown is a must. Don’t go to the warf during peak times but it’s cool enough to want to see. Couple hours is plenty

on the way out take the coast on the Great Highway. We left from SF to go to sequoia and the drive is really nice

I know! That's the craziest thing. And I discounted everyone's advice about a Giant's night game being cold. We were there in June and holy crap it was cold for that game.

2 days in San Francisco
2 days is too much in SF these days.

Downtown SF is a ghost town and absolutely riddled with vagrants. The businesses are still empty.

You can do Chinatown, Wharf and Alcatraz in a day.

I wouldn't stay downtown these days, very different than pre-2020. Was there two weeks ago for a week of work.

I'd honestly skip SF all together or just do a day trip if you are flying into SF.

I agreee with the above. I just got back from a 3 day work trip. We spent one day in Napa. We should have spent the whole time in Napa. Our hotel was in near the fishermans wharf area.

Some posters have already mentioned this but SF is so much more than downtown and fisherman’s wharf, the more neighborhoods and parks outside of downtown are where its at.

Crissy Field - walk the promenade, hit beach, go to Fort Point, if you have time you can hike the trail from here all the way to Lands End and Ocean Beach, fantastic views

North Beach - classic Italian neighborhood, picnic in Washington Square, walk up to Coit Tower and down the Filbert Steps on the backside

Alamo Square - great park with views and the painted ladies are classic, to the west of the park on Divisadero there’s lots of bars/restauarants, to the south the Duboce Park area is beautiful as well. Also Buena Vista Park and Corona Heights Park are wonderful as well.

Dolores Park - already mentioned, but beautiful views and park and people watching. Also right by the mission which has tons of great bars and restaurants and a fun somewhat hipster vibe

Bernal Heights Park - a hidden gem with some of the best views in the city, the neighborhood around is full of cool garden staircases. Cortland Street on the backside has great neighborhood vibe with some good spots including a great brewery (Bare Bottle)

Twin Peaks - top of the city

Golden Gate Park - could spend a day exploring this park - museums, botanical garden, conservatory of flowers, paddle boats on Stowe lake, beach chalet at the end by ocean beach

Embarcadero - a bit more touristy and downtown so more riff raff but great waterfront views and fun to check out all the piers, huge farmers market on sundays, ferry building has great shops inside and you can get a ferry here to Angel Island or Sausalito, both great day trips in their own right, ferry rides are worth it just to get views from the water, Reds on the other side of the bay bridge is a classic diner/burger spot

Marin Headlands and the trails around there are amazing, Rodeo Beach is great too and so close to the city. Muir Woods can get crazy, but biggest redwoods close to the city, if you’re up for a hike and some trail route finding you can walk in from the backside, otherwise gotta get a reservation. Muir Beach right down the road is awesome too. Tons of amazing trails up the mountain on Mt Tamalpais as well.

I live here in the city - could go on and on

Climbing up to Mt Tamalpais gave a great view of Frisco, the top of the GG bridge, and the Ocean. It was a short hike

I’d second Alcatraz. Wife enjoyed the shopping and Bay Area in Sausalito .
