Headed to Europe next summer and our first stop is Brussels. Air France doesn't offer a connecting flight because of the distance so we have a joint AF/TGV ticket. We're protected on the next train should anything happen but I'm wondering if TDTravel has any real world data points.

From Air France:

For flights arriving to Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport
You will collect your baggage at the baggage delivery area upon arrival at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport. You will benefit from priority baggage delivery. Next, you will proceed to the AIR&RAIL ticket office located on level 2 of the TGV station to collect your train ticket, at least 20 minutes before your train's departure. ?

Has anyone booked one of these tickets/transfers before and how well does it work in practice.

We have a 2h 7m "layover" in Paris and will need to get bags, clear customs, get our tickets from the TGV counter and board the train.

In the event of a misconnect, how accommodating are they with rebookings?

Just looking for some real world data points as the AF website doesn't have a ton of info

The station is in the airport so it would be similar to making a flight connection.

I would try to get a digital ticket so you can skip the TGV desk. I found a video explaining the train from CDG and in it he says you can get your train tix online 72 hours before departure. He also says you can collect the tix online when you check in for your flight. Here is the vid He is on a inOui train to strasbourg but inOui is owned by SNCF which also owns TGV so it should be similar. inOui is a budget service and doesn't offer food on the train. Watch the first minute of the vid and then go to the 5 minute mark when he talks about the shortcomings of Airfrances explanation of this transfer but he gives some good info.

Another vid going over riding the TGV from CDG that has some good, basic info.

This is great, thanks!

Glad I'm not the only one that doesn't think AF gave enough info. I had no clue about the 72 hour mark for the TGV check-in
