Wife and I are looking for somewhere to go in July. Prefer all inclusive not leaving the resort or worst case a cruise. Want to spend under 4K. Is this doable and any recommendations?

I recently booked 4 nights at The Excellence Riviera Cancun for August. I'm well below your budget including direct flights from my city.

You can easily do that for half if you go on a cruise. July is probably a busier time so might not be as cheap compared to out of season travel
My wife went with two friends to an all-inclusive in Cancnun in November 2021, 4 nights for only $600 (flight was paid with points) and that included meals and alcohol. Hyatt Ziva.

This was just after the COVID times so I'd expect prices to be different, but even $1,000 for 4 nights seems highly responsible.

Just gonna warn you now because we've seen several people post about this recently:
Update your passport now.

I wouldn’t go on a cruise in July because of the threat of a hurricane.

All inclusive > cruise. Try this place in Playa Mujeres.

Since you’re going in July, I’d recommend an adults only all inclusive.

I’ve been doing some preliminary research for all inclusives next year and Costco travel has great packages (must have a Costco membership).

I cruise frequently and never go in the summer because cruise fare almost doubles and there’s a ton of kids on board. Virgin Voyages is adults only. I’d recommend them if you’re wanting a cruise ship that doesn’t have kids everywhere.
