Well you’ve gotten lucky, I don’t think I’ve ever been on an American airline flight that left on the scheduled time or arrived as scheduled. Maybe I’ve just had bad luck but they are the worst in my experience.

This wasn’t a non=stop, it originally was going to DFW. Left DFW to go to BR and went to Austin on diversion. Sat for 4 hours then back to DFW and had to stay there overnight in airport after arriving at 3 am. Finally into BR next day.

They are consistently ranked the worst carrier in the US. Why anyone would choose to fly them is beyond me.

So it wasn’t a Cleveland to BR flight as you originally stated??

Yeah, you got me on that one. I THINK it was Cle to DFW to BTR. I THINK, but its been a couple of years. Point being American kept us on the tarmac in Austin 4 hours before going back to DFW. Wasn’t thinking that it was a big deal in the scheme of things.

We fly to Dallas a lot, but won't fly on AA unless it's an emergency.
With SW, Delta and a bunch of international carriers I've had multiple issues and at least some redeeming/good experience with the carrier's handling of it.
I've had a disproportionate number of issues with AA (not all their fault), but in every circumstance they were at best unhelpful, more often outright hostile. In my experience it's staffed by people who hate themselves and are extremely jaded about...everything.
