Traveling to the area for the first time in late June. We'll be there for 5 nights and have use of a rental car. We obviously are going to do the downtown Seattle stuff, but we also like light hiking and exploring small towns. One of the main areas we want to visit is Olympic National Park. I'm currently looking at a place in Bremerton. Any direction to other rental properties in the area would be awesome.

Olympic is awesome , we stayed at Kalalock lodge but it books up months in advance. It’s worth checking.

Leavenworth is worth visiting and some great hiking in the Cascades.

You can see the high points of Seattle in a half a day IMO, get out to the mountains or coast.

We're not spending the entire vacation in Olympic. We're also not spending the entire vacation in downtown Seattle. I'll have a rental car. There are couple of rental properties in Bremerton I'm considering. What's hard to compute?

Leavenworth is in the opposite direction from the Olympic Peninsula. For a cool vibe, you may want to check out Poulsbo, near Bremerton. It's a Scandinavian town, as opposed to German (Leavenworth).

If you're looking for places to stay near the Olympics, I would recommend checking out Port Townsend. Small enough to walk and big enough to have things to do, restaurants, shops, marinas, architecture, etc. it's one hour north of Bremerton. Scenery can't be beat and ther are some historical Bed n Breakfasts, as well as a number of historic hotels, like Manresa Castle and The Palace Hotel.

We are staying near Lake Quinault now. Just visited Klaloch Lodge. I would definitely stay there if you wanted to we did years ago and loved it.
