Only Christmas travel for me is a drive to Shreveport to visit family. Delta did offer a voucher on my SLC-DFW flight tonight but I have an appointment in Dallas tomorrow morning so I had to pass.

Family disney trip, is that what I'm hearing?

Quick drive over to shreveport won't be bad. How much were they offering today? I'm curious to see how many flights end up oversold this season. I've got fingers crossed for the day after christmas, we just need some winter weather at ORD, DFW, CLT, PHL, or MIA to speed this process up

I’ll be on reserve 12/24-12/26. Our staffing is already horrible. Pray for me, lol.

Which part of NC will you be staying in? We'll be in and around Asheville.

Ouch. Maybe the christmas gift will be you're not needed from reserve those days?

I'm stuck flying AA twice,

Charlotte. Haven't really explored that area besides the airport which doesn't count. Had someone go to Asheville for a long weekend in the fall and really enjoyed it

I didn’t even look. It popped up on the kiosk at check-in in Salt Lake City but we had paid First seats, a meeting in the morning, and a dog to get home too.

Proactively got an email from AA that my flight to Charlotte is overbooked tomorrow, but there are no available options to change my flight to... We'll see how much they offer at the airport tomorrow.

Yesterday was my first time flying since before the pandemic. Everything went fine, but one thing I noticed is that it took over 30 minutes for bags to arrive at the carousel. Has this been a normal occurrence? Maybe it's just LAX or the flight itself.

LAX is a disaster. Probably that.

Haha. The chances of that are slim to none.

Annual Christmas- New Year's week road trip with the daughters.

Boxing Day head up to my dad and step-mom's (Grandpa and Granny to the kids) in Hattiesburg with extended family.

Up through Memphis to St. Louis, catch an NHL St. Louis Blues game and do usual touristy stuff in St. Louis including the arch.

Then a quick run west across the state with a stop in Columbia to see Mizzou campus, then on to Kansas City, mainly for some of their barbecue, but also some sight-seeing. Turn back south, spending some time in the Ozarks, and then seeing Arkansas campus in Fayetteville before heading home via Little Rock.

Update from SEA- Partly cloudy skies and 49*F. Busiest I've seen the airport since I moved out this way. Arrivals area was jammed with cars and that's mid morning, can't imagine what that will be like tonight. Flight today is still showing as Y0 so may be a chance of an oversell but we'll find out in about 2 hours.

ETA: Flight isn't oversold so we're headed to NC

Made it to Shreveport tonight, left Dallas around 6 and it was smooth sailing on I-20 East, I-20 West had a massive backup in Terrell and I-45/US 75 North through Dallas was backed up but thankfully we were going the opposite direction.

Heading to Seagrove Beach FL on the 26th through Jan 2nd. Already dreading the 7 hour (at minimum) drive back home to MS on the 2nd... Weather looks good though for the week. Mid 70s as the highs.
