The wife and I are thinking about flying to either Alaska or Maine this summer but were wondering if anyone has any first hand knowledge of the vaccine and mask rules there? We aren’t vaccinated and don’t plan on being since both of us have the antibodies. We also are over wearing masks so we don’t want to deal with the mask nazi’s. How are both states on dealing with this at the current time?

Thanks

For counties in Maine where face coverings are currently recommended in public indoor settings, please consult this map from U.S. CDC. Some communities in Maine have local face covering rules for indoor spaces.

We were in Portland and Kennebunkport in October and had no problems with masks being required. One shop in Kennebunkport had a sign saying mask required and it was the only shop with no customers. Most of the clerks, wait staff etc. wore a mask but did not ask us to put one on.

Alaska.

Masks are highly dependent on city. No vaccination mandate but may have to have a negative test on arrival, taken within 72 hours.

Juneau does have a mask mandate right now, not sure about the rest of the state.
