EU Ban for American Travel

With the EU set to potentially push a ban on American travel again today, what are y’all’s thoughts on it all?
I’m set to go on my honeymoon in Greece in a few weeks and I’m hoping Greece ignores the travel ban recommendation since they already have vaccination/test requirements in place.

Some countries opened before the EU recommendation earlier this summer, Greece being one of them. Croatia was open for US tourists last year when the whole world wasn't allowing us.
I suspect Greece will deviate from the ban recommendation because 25% of their economy depends on tourism.

I have a flight to Madrid cheduled for November that I booked back before the airlines ended the free change fees. The plan is to change to a flight into a country that is still welcoming Americans if/ when the EU countries ban us.

-EU placed America in the “safe countries” list a while back. Meanwhile, the US has still restricted EU travel here. This has created tension.
-COVID cases have risen above the 75/100k hospitalization ratio for safe countries; EU decided that was enough to place US back on banned countries.
-EU guidance is only a recommendation and any of the participating countries can do as they please.

Looks like Italy added the negative covid test back into the mix to enter from the US.
