Ft. Lauderdale Recommendations

I am traveling to Ft. Lauderdale for work next week. I will be working near the airport. I would like to avoid any bad areas where I might get murdered. I would like to stay in a safe area. Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Hard Rock casino is nice and close if you’re in to that kinda thing. The area along Las Olas and the beachfront have plenty to do.
Big money in that area. Saw your typical urban bums and heroin junkies, but never felt unsafe.

What are you into? How old are ya?
Boatyard has a good happy hour that starts at 3 during the weekdays. Sit out back at the outside bar.
15th Street Fisheries is right on the intercoastal. Is a nice spot to view boats passing by. Water Taxi stops here.
Take the Water Taxi one day. It stops at 12 different spots and runs all day. You can see a lot of stuff with that. All the places it stops are fine to hang out and drink/eat.
Las Olas is a fun walk. I live on one of the canals. Has plenty of bar/restaurant options. I’d recommend that for the night. Lots of talent walking around.
I’d also say the World Famous Elbo Room. There’s just too much action at that corner not to see.
There’s a few microbreweries as well. Funky Buddha, Invasive Species, GulfStream Brewery, LauderAle. All perfectly acceptable hangouts. With solid beers.
Coconuts if you want a popular spot. Scoot snacks are good.
