A Disney ship called on Grand Cayman today, first visit since COVID began.
And Grand Cayman still hasn't built a damn cruise pier, so it remains a tender port.

Pre-COVID there was a plan to build a two pier, four-berth facility at Seven Mile Beach, a few miles north of the current tender port. They would need to dredge a channel, and the dredge material would be used to build up the port facility.
Cruise industry was going to lend the country 2/3rds of the project cost and was going to be paid back with a cut of port fees.
There was some local opposition, then COVID hit. The government then decided to scrap the plans, and actually focus on limiting but not eliminating cruise passengers.
They did a total 180 during COVID. Went from wanting to build the terminal to attract the biggest ships, to actually wanting less traffic than pre-COVID.
