Has anyone done the Christmas Markets on the Danube?

We have some friends looking to make the trip and we might join them. Has anyone done this trip before, how was it?

It's kind of late to sign up for that this year.
My brother and his wife have done it twice, and out friends here in Texas have done it before and are set to do it again in a couple of weeks. All reported it to be fabulous.

I am booked on a Viking cruise for that itinerary but not during Christmas. We are going in April. I guess it will be the Christmas market towns without the Christmas markets.

EU Christmas markets are great. Why anyone needs to pay a tour company is beyond me.

Just finished the Danube Waltz. Our 8th cruise with Viking. Budapest to Passau. In Munich now on the way to Salzburg.
We had a great time! Perfect way to see Christmas in Europe.
