Pro Tip: take an expired driver's license
Without question the best advice ever offered on this board. We got hassled when my 15 year old was driving and the cops took the license plates off the cart. When we returned the cart they kept my DL. Had to go to courthouse and pay $100 to get it back.
I probably broke the law with my 15 year old driving so I probably had this coming. But an older DL would have done the trick. They actually have it in the same system at the airport so if you don’t pay your ticket they will know when you go through immigration

Or just follow the law. Seriously.

I've been down there with a tropical depression in the area. It's not optimal. Hope the weather somehow clears for you.

Sounds like the best possible reason to visit again.
September and October are their most rainy months. Hopefully you can go in late February, the weather is perfect and a nice escape from the chilly weather we will get here.

Ruben’s was an awesome breakfast spot but sadly, he died recently. If it’s open, definitely drop in.

Not sure what days you are there but Basto’s is closed on Thursday. Get the arrechera steak.
