Detroit will be fine during the day if your viewing from your car. Comerica Park is a nice ball park as well.. On the drive from Detroit to Cleveland stop by Cedar Point

I may even add in a ballgame in Columbus. Hard to convince the wife to go to 3 in 5 days.

ETA: is Cedar Point worth it if neither of us are into roller coasters?

We stayed at the Drury hotel in St. Louis. The arch is one block behind it, Busch stadium two blocks in the opposite direction. Walking was fine. We had a great time.

If you are in Cleveland then it would be foolish, IMHO, to not head a few hours over to Niagara Falls. If you've never been your wife will love it. From there you can head south to Pittsburgh and resume your plans. In any case it sounds like a blast.
