The family and I have a 7am flight out of MSY next month. I have yet to fly out of the new terminal. Are all of the food service places open? Or are things restricted because of Covid? Thanks in advance.

It's all open but you are going to be limited as to what's open for a 7am flight

Café Dumonde will be the best bet and should be open.

So you are planning to arrive early to the airport just to eat? Eating before you leave home isn’t an option? Just curious if I understand the question. This isn’t a layover situation?

Fair question. I have two kids. So the thought of waking them up at 4am to eat before we leave isn’t very appealing. I wasn’t thinking sit down. More like Chick Fil A that we either could eat before boarding or bring on to the plane.
I’ve just seen pictures of airports during the pandemic and a lot of store fronts were still shuttered.

So you'd rather deal with that in the airport than the car or in your own home?

There's not much in MSY and I don't know if they'll be open that early outside of the before mentioned Cafe Du Monde

Went thru MSY last week. Lots are still closed. The entire market street food court area was closed. The huge restaurant right after security was closed. Chilis and cure bar were open.

You folks that won't just answer his question and instead try to dictate what's best for the poster's schedule and family crack me up.

The question was answered in first reply. The rest is just conversation.

We ate chick fil-a for a flight that early . Pretty sure it's open for breakfast at around 6.

Just googled it for you. It opens at 4 am.

I guess I’m not answering your question, but you do know you can bring food through security, right? A sandwich is not a problem

The chik fil a at msy is not your traditional efficient and polite experience. Comes with a nice upcharge to accompany the lowsy service.
