Nice/safe hotels in Birmingham along I-59?

Not familiar with the area.. will be passing through with the family on the way to Tennessee, can anyone recommend a hotel for us to crash just for the night? Would like somewheres close to 59 in an area that’s safe. Any suggestions would be appreciated

One of the downtown hotels (e.g. The Elyton) or one of the places in Homewood (e.g. The Valley, A Loft or Embassy Suites). Nothing immediately by the interstate comes to mind, but these areas are all an easy off and on.

I would take 459 around B'ham and get a hotel in the Hoover area.

Exactly what we did a few weeks ago. We were traveling with a ton of our things jammed into two cars, left most everything in the cars overnight, and were not worried.
Were stayed here - not far off interstate.

Decent hotels? Was hoping to find one with a decent pool for the kiddos to spend an afternoon in

If I was looking for a safe hotel with a decent pool around Birmingham I would go to the Renaissance at Ross Bridge. It isn’t right off the interstate but it’s not that far either.

+1 for the Renaissance at Ross Bridge. Have stayed here several times and the kids love it! Has a legit pool area with a slide

How was your stay? I’m looking at it now and thinking about doing that

Trussville is fine, but limited options. As others suggested, 459 is a better bet- Ross Bridge is probably the nicest along that route but there's plenty near the Summit (US-280) which would also be fine.

I live 15 mins from there but have stayed several times. Rooms are sold. Clean, big, well-maintained property. The pool is great and perfect for kids.
If you’re fine with Courtyard by Marriott or that range and looking for something right off the interstate, I’d go Trussville just north of Bham.
As far as in the city, only option I can think of w pool is the Westin. More of a plunge pool. I’m civic center complex so you could look to see if there is a concert, event or show of interest the night you will be passing through. Everything from bigger concerts (for Bham) to monster trucks, gun shows, Disney on ice, etc.
But I’d go Ross Bridge is looking for afternoon/evening out of car with nice pool.

For what it’s worth, we stopped at the new best western in Hoover and the place was nice, room was perfect, and the service/lady at the front desk were top notch

+1 rec for Ross Bridge. No brainer for a nice hotel, good food onsite, and a nice pool. Stay there often
