Heading to NYC in a few weeks

I love that one of the sCiEnCeY responses to Covid and indoor spaces was for restaurants to make outdoor seating that looks a lot like indoor space.

The wife and I will be going to NYC for our anniversary in about a month. We’re both vaccinated but I expect them to be super liberal when it comes to Covid

Wife and I were there last week. Like others have said, all the sit down restaurants and shows we went to required proof of vaccination. Some wanted to see photo ID as well. We downloaded the “NYC COVID Safe” app and uploaded a picture of the vaccination card and ID there which was easier than fumbling around for the card and ID.

Most shops and stores had signs that requested or required unvaccinated people to wear masks but I saw plenty of people not wearing them. Almost everyone on the train wore masks but a few didn’t and nobody gave them shite for it. We had a blast and didn’t feel like it was too much of a burden. I will say, the guy walking around in the Broadway show was a mask Nazi.

I understand what you mean, and yes... but that's a crazy sentence.

When I was growing super liberal meant incredibly free.

But here it means, incredibly restrictive.

What happened to us.

Good tip - going to download that before we go.

I don’t really care about having to wear a mask or show my vax card, as long as I can see the original cast of To Kill a Mockingbird and eat at one of my favorite restaurants (Le Coucou) I’m happy.

The LA Wallet app can have your DL and Vax card on it, just 2 clicks apart.

Has anyone here used it in NYC or on other travels that required vax proof?

DiBlasio to require kids 5-11 to be vaccinated in order to dine indoors and the like but looks like that won’t go into effect until Dec. 27th.

Nevermind goes into place 12/14

What is the best way to get from Laguardia to hotel in/near Time Square?

We normally take the shared shuttle buses from airports, like in Vegas, we always take ODS/Kaptyn so shared shuttles are something we are used too so stops and sharing with others is not an issue.

Carmel (212 666 6666) or Dial-7 (212 777 7777).
