re: Louie, the show

Ask a yute to show you how to link your iPad to your smart TV and cast video to it. It’s usually pretty simple, but it’s hard to explain without being there. Not all video programs allow casting, but I’d think Louie would to make the product more desirable for folks his age who don’t want to watch on mobile,

Maybe there is a YouTube video by a 14 year old Pakistani kid who shows how to do it. I learn a lot of tech stuff from them.

That’s some fine looking chili and cornbread. Nice work.

My wife likes to make a ground beef chili with McCormick seasoning, Rotel, canned beans, etc. It’s good, but I like to make a legit chili at least once each winter. It slipped by me this year. Maybe we’ll have another cold spell.
I’ve been moving my clocks ahead 15 minutes every night since Wednesday.

Makes the transition easier than having to wake up at 2 a.m. Sunday to change them a whole hour at once.

Well, not semi-pro. Everyone knows it’s fake.

The code word was: “very detrimental.”

Now it makes sense.

I won’t fault the speaker until I hear them say it. Reporters make mistakes all the time. And some now use AI tools to transcribe an interview, so you get things like “four age” instead of 4-H.
Starbucks House Blend Medium Roast Whole Bean Coffee. Sam’s has it pretty cheap. Grind it and make in Aeropress with hot water from the Keurig.

Grabbed some Peet’s whole beans the other day because they were on sale.

Also drink Kcups found on sale. Dark Magic, Community, McCafe, etc.

I gave up on my igniter on my Weber Genesis years ago

I replaced my whole igniter system on a 4 burner Genesis. I hate working on stuff and am not good at it, but it was not difficult.

Don't just start taking stuff apart. The correct instructions will save time and trouble.

The replacements have been going great for several years.
Looks good. I bought a Searwood last fall and am enjoying it.

Check out Smokin' Pecan pellets. They are made from pecan shells (not wood) in Mansfield LA.

Many of the YouTubers pimp them, so I gave them a try and really think they give a good flavor, a little smokier than wood pellets but still fairly light. I don't really notice much difference between the other wood pellets I've tried.

The Smokin' Pecan pellets are not cheap, but my Searwood just sips them on low and slow. If I crank it to 400 or so for a wing cook or the like, I tend to use cheaper wood pellets because consumption goes way up, and I'm not looking for smoke flavor as much on those cooks.

I've bought the Smokin' Pecan pellets at Tubbs Hardware in Bossier (not known for cheap prices) for less than they are straight from the manufacturer. I guess the lack of shipping makes that possible.

Too cloudy here. Can't see it at all.
I subscribed recently to get the Shreveport-Bossier version; the Shreveport Times is less than a shadow of its former self, and the Advocate has some decent local business news.

I hate that (1) I often have to log in, then refresh the page about 5 times before the login sticks and it quits asking me to login, (2) when I am about 2/3 through an article (I mainly read on PC), a box pops up with other articles it suggests, and (3) all the banner ads and weird layout make it virtually impossible to save an article or share one with a nonsubscriber.

Pro Tip: When I subscribed, I studied the two options for a bit on PC/browser. I guess it sensed I had cold feet, so it eventually popped up and said, "Wait, don't leave yet. How about this offer?"

Proceeded to give it to me for $52 for the first year; renews in year 2 for $90; renews in year 3 for $119.88. Full price for year 4, by which time I hope to be living in a new area and reading another news source.

I keep getting some awkward chick trying to convince a nerd that accountants are cool and negotiate pro sports contracts “in the background”. She wants us to go to a website that will further convince us to become accountants.

Who paid for that, and why?

Old Milwaukee's Best Light

There is Old Milwaukee, and there is Milwaukee’s Best ( regular or light). Two different beers, but people often come up with Old Milwaukee's Best.

When I was a kid, I worked in a small store near the black part of town. We sold more Old Milwaukee (14 oz cans!) than any other beer.

Consumer Reports in 1996 proclaimed Old Milwaukee the best tasting beer.

quote:

DETROIT (AP) -- Could it be that Bud's been dethroned as the King of Beers? That Miller's time has come and gone?

That's what 17 trained beer tasters suggest in June's Consumer Reports magazine. Their choice for the best-tasting mass-marketed brew is that blue-collar bargain of the beer cooler, Old Milwaukee.

It was followed by Stroh's, another cheap and minimally advertised brand from Detroit's Stroh Brewery Co. Better than Budweiser, Michelob, Miller High Life and nine other national brands.

Two pickoff attempts in two days result in the runner advancing,

Zero outs from pickoff attempts this season.
I think they updated their system and cleared out old accounts or something. We renewed recently and had to set up online like a first time customer. Our old login info did not work.
Former NBA player Brad Daugherty (like Jordan, a NC guy) is also a NASCAR co-owner.

His teams have won in the Truck Series, Xfinity Series and the Cup Series including the 2023 Daytona 500 with driver Ricky Stenhouse Jr.
