I got a quote for 12 RT from IAH to SLC for 4 days. It was $55k. I'd rather spend the extra cash on a big Chalet and private transportation to/from the airport.

Netjet varies significantly depending on the tier, but they are also able to reduce the price relative to a single flight because you are locked into a certain amount of spend per year.

Problem going cross country is that only the higher tier jets can make the hop, so as soon as you exceed a certain trip length the pricing jumps.

My FIL looked into flying his jet to Sweden a few years ago. They wanted some bizarre fee to land there. It was something like $18,000 just for the fee.

What kind of plane? I'm not sure that's all that horribly expensive its like a high end airport? I mean it is, don't get me wrong.

But my wife's family has a couple of planes for their business and the 2-3 times I've flown on the Cessna Citation the fuel bill was something like $4000 for a 1 hour flight. Now I wasn't nosy so maybe I missed something, but it was filled up every stop on a multi stop trip to pick up other family members and every time fuel was added. So I'm assuming flying across the pond and back would be a significant expense?

My only point of not really knowing what I'm talking about is that I gotta asssume flying across the pond is expensive as frick no matter what.

That's what I'd suspect from a half-assed commie country like Sweden. Most self-hatin' white folks on the planet.
