If in doubt I buy but ALWAYS TRY TO FLY SOUTHWEST.
No cancellation.
and try to book rooms where the most it can cost is one night.

I am not that familiar w TOURS.

CSR provides good trip cancellation insurance. I would not say the same for health insurance. If you are going on an extensive oversees trip i would not count on CSRs health coverage.

Good site, I just used it to buy medical from Tin Leg (top rated and they are underwritten by Berkshire Hathaway) - $53 for $250K evacuation, $100K medical, 12 days, age 60+.

I'm going to be in remote South American locations where any real medical will involve evacuation flights.

Upgrading to include trip interruption would have added $350 - $500 (no thanks). The policy I got does have some minor trip delay coverage.

Last year I was on a trip where a member of our group died of a heart attack while we were hiking high in the Andes. Bad shite happens sometimes.
