Is anyone aware of any hotels that allow you to leave your dog in the room for the day while you are away? Many hotels will gladly charge $125 for your pet to spend the night but make you sign a waiver that you will be fined/kicked out if you leave the animal unattended even if crated. Seems to defeat the purpose if you want to travel to a national park destination (where you cannot bring your dog) if you cannot leave it in the room for the day.

Aloft is very pet friendly. Had a good experience with them in Asheville. They actually provide bowls etc.

I second Aloft and also the Marriott Brand Moxy. LaQuinta’s are pretty good too.

Red Roof Inns are pet friendly. They don't even charge a fee.
