I run it all of the time and have for years. The guys smoking weed that live in Tivoli Place are a friendly bunch. It’s perfectly fine.

My hair stylist stayed there last year with her family and she loved it.

I’m partial to Hawaii but it’s a haul, especially with kids. The time adjustment there isn’t bad. Coming home sucks.

There’s a malasada trailer in the food truck lot across from Costco that has amazing made to order malasadas.

We went to Desi Vega’s. They gave meatballs to start. I had raw oysters, turtle soup, petite filet with asparagus, and cheesecake. Honestly it was a much better experience for much less than Herbsaint on NYE a few years ago.

I know I’ve been out of the city too long when these guys and other scammers try to target me.
I insisted on going to BBQ Shop with some friends when we were in Memphis last summer because I had read such great things. It was not good (lukewarm like it had been under a lamp all day) and I was embarrassed for suggesting it.

Baked tofu with stir fried broccoli, bell peppers, and onions with basmati rice
Sip. The only one I absolutely love is Fleur de Leaf pineapple coconut express.

For Mykonos, I thought we would do a quick excursion to Delos then take the public bus to the beaches and do a “beach walk” from Platys Gialos to Paradise Beach,

How long are you there? That seems to be pushing the time for a day. We were on a Celebrity cruise last year with similar ports. We took the bus to Elia and hung out there. It was beautiful. The first bus to Elia wasn’t until 10 so we walked around the port area before.

We actually did Santorini on our own and it was a lot easier than I expected. Got off the ship early, no line for cable car, hiked Fira to Oia, walked around Oia a bit before bussing back to Fira and taking the cable car back. Just putting that out there for anyone who might get intimidated by reading how difficult it is. It doesn’t have to be.

Took a tour in Ephesus but I didn’t love the one we did. We skipped the Virgin Mary house then after we got home everyone asked if we did it and my husband was upset we missed it even though it’s supposed to be a tourist trap.

We did Rhodes on our own.

You need to go the Acropolis in Athens. Book an early time because it’s hot. September is better than July but still. If you like high end dining, you can find Michelin-starred places that don’t cost 250pp. If you like casual stuff, there’s plenty of that too. Try loukemades if you get a chance. And be wary of cab drivers. They are notorious crooks. We used public transit a lot and Uber if we needed a car.
What do you like to do? If you want an outdoors vacation, Sedona. It’s really pretty and full of trails. It’s also full of people and traffic. if you want a walkable downtown with good restaurants and art, do Santa Fe. I’ve never spent time in Phoenix so I can’t opine on that, but it’s obviously much bigger than and much more to do than the other two.
No line at TSA Pre at MSY at 345 am. More people were using Clear. Airport seemed pretty busy.

We are supposed to be flying MSY-DFW-MSN Saturday a.m. on AA.

United statement

My mom was in a very nice assisted living facility for the last 1.5 years of her life. Place was beautiful but I had to stay vigilant right down to having her take pics of her meds and teaching her to know what she was taking and to question the nurses when necessary. Turnover was high and mistakes were a constant. She did like the place (she had stage IV cancer for years and her quality of life actually improved after moving to AL when my dad died). Fortunately she was able to stay there and pass under hospice care in her own room and never had to go to a nursing home.

Would the price point at Peche keep them from BG? It isn’t one star worthy service-wise.
