Yellow, you said you were visiting the bama.. how was the wait time, process for ordering, and general ambiance?

You can basically get an entire month for what 14 days would cost.

I’m about a mile down the beach from you. I’m sitting on the beach in front of bad arse coffee.

We heading home tomorrow after being here for almost 2 weeks. Probably coming back on the 20th.

It was far from normal but better than nothing Saturday. We waited about 45 minutes to get a table for 12 but then camped out and drank/watched band for about 4 hours. Waitress brought drinks but we had to go order and pick up food from counter.

We had "badass coffee" today. I love this area. You've prob seen me cruise by on a couple of my morning runs. I've been trying to run off some of this pigging out we've been doing on the trip .. I just ate my weight in pizza from Merlin's and donuts from Donut Hole.

This area is by far our favorite. 30A is much prettier especially down by Rosemary, but the convenience/access in and out of this area cant be beat. We will probably retire to this house unless someone offers us something stupid.

Is there any type of bar or individual seating? Going with family but sometimes like to duck off for an hour while they’re burning up in the sun

Yeah I didn't realize this.

I'm looking on AirBnB and there's not much availability right now, so people are obviously still booking. Unless the owners have unlisted their rentals from the site?

I'm looking to stay May 29th - June 2nd in Seacrest.

Now that it’s apparent that this will most likely last another month

Where are you seeing this? I’m tentatively booked for May 23 - June 6th. If that’s the case I’ll try to get them to get a deal on going for 30 days

Has nothing to do with out of state. Short term rentals are banned until phase 2. Once in phase 2 they are open but they “suggest” only renting to Florida residents.

Most around here suspect phase 2 will begin on the 22 or 25.

We just got word that our short term host will not rent to us next week in Pensacola. He seemed pretty pissed at the whole situation, and I agree with him. How hotels are open and not short terms is the stupidest thing.

That said, we called in a favor to one of my Dad's friends and he's hooking us up with his place in Pensacola for a few days.

Yeah, it's going to come right down to the wire for our memorial day trip. We're taking another trip the week of June 13th, so hopefully that one will be safe at least

That’s bullshite they’re making people wait to find out about their trips especially for memorial day weekend

It will be an enormous blow to the panhandle if things don't open for memorial day.

There's a 30k signiture petition, multiple lawsuits, and mayors yelling at the governor to open things up.

Hopefully has sense enough to realize that any potential virus impacts pale in comparison to the economic impacts of keeping things closed.

Not to mention the fact that other lodging is, and has been, fully open.

There are a few ways around this. The company that manages our properties is, with permission from owners, giving big discounts for 30 day rentals and/or grouping multiple reservations as one.

For example, you have 4 families renting for the month of June. Instead of 4 separate reservations, they are rebooking them as one for the entire month and allotting each family a specific use period.

I have a short term in Colorado. Our in town management advised that if we violated county restrictions and leased or occupied our property, they would be required to report us .

That’s the enforcement mechanism we’ve faced.
