It's nice to be out of the house and at the beach, but we certainly picked a crappy week. God damned mother nature.

Damn. So how long they gonna keep this condo lockdown going?
Posted on 5/26/20 at 7:57 am to Riolobo
Until after July 4th probably.

What are you taking about? Typical beach weather all week. It’s actually nice.

We got refunded the full amount I'm assuming since the rental company canceled us instead of us just canceling the trip.

Is this restriction affecting hotel/resort stays in Florida for us from Louisiana? I made a 6 night reservation at one of the Universal Orlando resorts for June 4th thru the 10th. Everything went through and I was charged...I called yesterday to see if they were allowing people from Louisiana to book and the CS rep had no clue what I was talking about in regards to Louisiana travel restrictions...and she lives/works in Orlando. All she said was "that's only affecting people who fly in"

It doesn’t apply to hotels, only short term rentals which is homes and condos for a period shorter than 30 days.

In Orange Beach it’s been a crazy few days. 2 people drowned and washed up on the beach, A third one in ICU,a girl got hit on her bike, Big Mikes Steakhouse has huge fire, Mors BBQ has huge fire.

Yeah most of that all happened on Sunday afternoon. The sirens were going on non stop. Someone said there was a big gas leak in Orange Beach as well during that time frame.
And on Monday, some guys were spear fishing 25 miles offshore and ran into a great white shark.

Update on our trip. Spent Friday-Monday in Pensacola Beach. No problems at all. Got off at the exit before Buccees and took 90 all the way to Pensacola. Actually spent the beach time in Navarre just because there were so many people on Pensacola Beach. Went to a bar down there one night and it was pretty packed. It honestly looked just like any other holiday weekend, except more packed. No Karens and lots of Louisiana license plates everywhere. Some of our group went through the checkpoint and got waved through without signing anything.
It basically just depends on your rental agency. We didn't experience any hostility or negativity towards Louisiana while there.

Yeah a flexible gas tank washed up on shore and it took them 8 hours to figure out what to do with it. It was leaking diesel when they tried to move it then they lost it and it floated down the beach some more. I think they ended up pumping it out to get rid of it. At the same time they had helicopters everywhere looking for bodies.

Can anyone give update on the grocery stores in Pensacola beach? Has anyone found them to be running short on anything? Have a trip planned in couple weeks and wondering if we should bring more supplies with us than we normally would.

Publix on Perdido Drive and Gulf Beach HWY was stocked this entire last weekend. Not crowded hardly at all.
Posted on 5/27/20 at 6:15 pm to OleWarSkuleAlum
Yep. I had no problems finding what I needed in Orange Beach at Rouses or Publix this past week.
I was worried about shortages or labor problems so I brought more than usual with me, but it was a non issue

Where is the checkpoint at? Wanted to head down to the beach this weekend.
