Eli Drinkwitz Calls Out Texas A&M For Depth Chart 'Semantics' At Quarterback

Missouri head coach Eli Drinkwitz spoke with reporters this week ahead of Saturday's matchup vs. Texas A&M.
Drinkwitz said he expects Aggies quarterback Marcel Reed to start despite Conner Weigman being listed as QB1 on Texas A&M's depth chart.
Earlier this week, Aggies head coach Mike Elko said Weigman would be a "game-time decision" on Saturday. Reed has started the last three weeks, going 3-0, while Weigman has been out with a shoulder injury. Per SDS:

“I know on their depth chart it says the other kid is the starting quarterback,” Drinkwitz said. “But I mean, that’s just semantics in my opinion. [Reed] is 3-0 as the starter and whether [Weigman] is listed as questionable or whatever, I don’t see them going back. So, they’re 3-0, they clearly have a different offense identity with [Reed] as the quarterback and they’ve developed an offense that fits around his system
“It’s a lot different than the first game of the year. So if they go with the other one, they go with the other one, but they’ve already kind of built the offense towards Marcel.”
