No. He would be more focused on getting coaches in place and finalizing the recruiting class.

Tepper for sure.
re: How close is LSU to being a top 4 football team again?

A decent QB away. With a balanced offense and this D, we could do some serious damage.
re: LSU Fans...you can pick ONE. Beating Bama OR undefeated Ole Miss?

No hesitation... Bama!

Far from world beaters, but they will be favored over LSU. Don't forget we have to play them on their field.

What talent?
We still have a ton of talent on both sides of the ball. I don't give Miles credit for much, but he is great recruiter. We brought in the #1 WR and #1 RB last year, and up and down the roster each position slot is filled with 4 and 5 star recruits. I'm not saying we should be winning NC's every year, but we should at least be competing better than we are.

Epic, we need to get him the ball more. We have an embarrassing amount of talent at WR.

The spin move was great, and it just shows a glimpse of whats to come.

I'd start Harris and let him get some experience, since this is obviously a rebuilding year.
I'd get rid of the Power I on early downs, and opt to spread the defense out more so that we can better use our receivers.
Get the TE's involved on short and intermediate routes over the middle.
Move CC down from the box so he can work one on one with BH.

If this is indeed a rebuilding year and Harris has proven to be the future, then give him the ball now. We can let him take his lumps and mature, so that maybe next year we can see some better things from this offense.

I suppose I'm a negatiger, but never predicted 4-8. I think we get past Kentucky with a win, and then we pull the upset against either Bama or Arkie and that's it. With the schedule we have left and the state of this team, 8 wins is stretching it. I see 7-5 tops, which given the amount of talent we have is extremely sad. See ya in Shreveport!
re: Offensive strategy vs UF?
Posted by wickedwriter on 10/5/14 at 8:13 pm to monsterballads
I imagine Miles' strategy will be to soften up the middle of the defense for 3 QTR's, before opening things up.
re: SEC Fan Poll: Who wins this Saturday - LSU @ Auburn
Posted by wickedwriter on 9/30/14 at 2:54 pm to Sev09
If we were playing in DV I would give LSU a slight edge, but a Freshman QB making his first start on the road, I'm going with the Barners. 28-20

A new stadium could lead to better coaching and player execution.

What makes you think this,
That incessant Read Option play that he has been trying to run since he got here. It's a play that rarely pans out and more times than not just starts a drive in the hole. The Miles offensive identity tends to be predictably sad, and has been that way since before Cameron.

No he doesn't. I think he is more than adequately compensated for the quality of product he has put on the field.
re: Point pulled from T-Bob thread: How much did 1/9/12 hurt future attendance?
Posted by wickedwriter on 1/8/14 at 11:57 pm to Captain Want
I can only speak for myself, but the debacle of 1/9/12 did something to me. I no longer get as emotionally invested as I once did. Just doesn't seem worth it. So, I imagine many feel the same way and I think that one game has definitely had some repurcussions. While, I wouldn't claim it is the only factor that led to the decline of fan attendance, I would argue it has had an impact.

Offense has to be Faulk. It just also seemed like whenever he had the ball, he could make anything happen. Was it the Houston game where he almost single handedly willed us to victory?
On Defense, I have to say Honey Badger. He just had another level when it came to play making ability. Always seemed to be in the right place at the right time.
Honorables would be PP7. I watched his return against WVU, and was about 30 feet away from him when he struck his heisman pose. A couple more, Dorsey, guy was a beast and anchored the interior DLine, injured and all. Trindon would be another O guy. He seemed to make things happen when we needed a break.

The only thing that's embarassingly stupid is your reliance on words like idiot and stupid. It's clear the only organized athletics you play is little league.

You can think that, but you'd be wrong. Football isn't terribly difficult to understand. I suppose that was great coaching on display when Bama completely embarassed LSU in the NC Game?

except for all those wins....but who counts those
You guys harp on wins, but how a teams wins should matter. Many were sloppy, ugly, and more time than not the result of talent alone. The question was asked why there are so many "negatigers" and the simple answer is the way Miles coaches this team does not inspire confidence.

I am neither an irrational poster, nor an idiot. I do not expect NC's each year. What I do expect is smart, fundementally sound football.I suppose that's why you can lump me into the category with negatigers. I came to this after years of watching Miles blunder about on the sidelines costing this program games. I am of the mindset that a coach should put his players in position to succeed. I do not feel Miles does this. I feel most of the success that LSU has had is solely based on the talent level that Louisiana affords. In my eyes Miles was essentially handed a Ferrari and he has driven it like a John Deere tractor.
Who would I like to see replace him? One name I can think of would be Hugh Freeze. I like the guy, seems to have passion and smarts. Makes the most out of little. He instills a fire that is sorely lacking in this LSU team. We need that swagger of old. We need to find that killer instinct again. No more of this pitch and dive right Big 10 BS. We need an innovator. Someone that can do for LSU like Meyer did for Florida, or Malzahn is doing for Auburn.

Not even a question... Spurrier hands down. After what he's done at SC, it would have been amazing to see what he could do with Louisiana talent.
