I can't wait for the first trade in college. That's how ridiculous all this crap is getting.

Crazy that we are to a point in college athletics where you have a recruiting profile and portal profile. If you would have told a blue chip recruit that there are going to be two “profiles” 10 years ago they would have hit off the blunt you were smoking.

Nobody is beating this team if they hold serve. They are soooooo well coached and fundamental.

They are the most fundamentally sound team that I have seen in an extremely long time.

No. It is a silver can just like Copenhagen. Not as fine cut as Copenhagen but flavor is very similar.

I’m killing Grizzly a snuff.. Copenhagen flavor, but not as expensive.

re: Are you losing interest in high school recruiting?
Posted by threedog79 on 1/3/26 at 11:08 pm to auburn2eugene
There is no reason to follow high school recruiting. These kids certainly don’t care about the university they sign with.
I posed this question a while back: “what association does any player have with the university these days?”
It is literally only the name of the uniform. There is no allegiance, no sweat equity, no love of the school/traditions.
It has become mercenary ball. I found myself pulling for Navy the other day because at least with the service academies (at least from an optics perspective) they are playing for their service institution.
Baws, college sports of the past is absolutely dead. A real shame.

Maybe I'm just becoming the "get off my lawn" old guy. But that picture is a summary of one of the things wrong with college athletics now. The MAJOR indictment on college athletics is the unrestricted transfer portal.
I have no problem with a person making money off their production and their likeness, but this is clearly a pay for play set up in college ball...which is NOT what NIL was supposed to be. Again, the major thorn in the side of us purists is the transfer portal.

Not counting an O: (in no order but top 3)
1. A perfect hook set on a monster bass.
2. When holding your woman in bed reaching around and have a handful of breast and just laying there.
3. Taking a toe-tapping-while-waiting-in-a-long line piss.
Edited to add: I did my list without reading past the OP. It is fraternal to see other baws have listed these. It is just a Y chromosome hard setting thing I guess.

The only association these men and women have in college athletics with the school is the name on the jersey. It is an absolute open free agency market with no restrictions. As such, I don’t think anybody with a good conscience can say they are pulling for their “school’s team”. There is no School loyalty, pride, association, or sweat equity anymore to and for the school. The current system of college athletics is absolutely broken. Been an Auburn guy since I was four years old (42 years) and I can’t even get excited or disappointed about any team because it’s going to be a completely different team next year.
Long gone are the days of watching a kid come in as a freshman and matriculate his way up the roster. It absolutely sucks.

Just came to post my daily “I hate college sports in its current state” post. Now, back to my grind that doesn’t make one bit of difference in the life of Auburn athletics.

Oh I know. I have officially reached (and it has been heading this way since there was an unrestricted portal) the point of not vesting in any Auburn sports teams. It sucks because college sports, particularly football, was the existence of my sports world…and the Braves.
This whole state of college sports is absolute crap. I caught myself freeing up Saturdays for hunting about the time the portal went crazy. Now, I think I’m about to the point of no return.
Sad.

My Louisiana wife has friends outside of Homa .
When we visit them it sounds like they have almost a Brooklyn accent. They are lifelong residence of Homa area.
Always found that interesting.

So how worried should we be? There are portal entries with every new coaching change (or even without a change) and with these entries being personalized to us, should we be panicking now?
Cam entering was the one I didn’t want to hear but knew it was a probability.

Interesting that a state like Alabama with its minimum population (relatively speaking) can split a state and both be in the top 10 nationally. Just really goes to show how much (or used to) college football means to the state.

Do you still spit? Have dipped a can a day for about 30 years. My wife don’t care about me dipping because I was doing that when we met. Been sober for almost four years but have held on to Copenhagen/Gizzly.
Can’t fathom hunting/fishing without it.
