Original Member here and still active; wouldn't expect anything less from the OT as far as the hatred goes. To respond to a few questions and negative comments. Yes they get paid from $1500 to $5000 per parade. They also get a $2500 local performance fee for corporate or private events (weddings), they do not charge performance fees to charity organizations (they do the St. Michaels special school parade every year).

Yes they donate up to $25k or more to local charities each year with no strings attached, mostly local school music/dance programs or other programs that promote dance or music in the community, $5k to 4 or 5 programs each year.

Attention whores, sometimes yes, but we try to select guys that don't act like that during auditions, and have turned down professional dancers before because of their attitudes. They generally try to admit guys that we would enjoy drinking beers with on weekend and don't focus on their dancing ability (obviously).

Gay's yes there are about a quarter of the guys that are openly gay, try finding gay guys that don't like to dance, there aren't many.

Overplayed, probably at this point but they still get tons of positivity on the parade route and still get crazy amounts of appearance requests, many get turned down due to scheduling conflicts.

Bottom line we have had a beer sponsor that provides free beer to us for every major function we do since our inception (the last 4 or 5 years have been Gnarly Barley) so we drink free beer and have a good time and also enjoy free Canes from our other sponsor, all while donating our time/dues/money to charitable organizations.
If you have a problem with that its a "you" problem, not ours.
Just had one installed by them through Alans Factory Outlet. Same thing, they contract through Carolina Carports. They rescheduled 3 times on me supposedly due to rain (this was in August and it did rain a lot.) 3rd time I told the woman, "It's August in Louisiana, its gonna rain every f'ing afternoon, either come do the install or I'm going to cancel it"
The installers showed up a day or two later unannounced and unscheduled and did the install in a matter of 3-4 hours. It came out really well and I'm glad I didn't cancel it. Just know going in its not gonna be installed right away but its worth the wait.
