re: What are your tips to maintain energy throughout the day?
Posted by hall59tiger on 1/14/26 at 2:02 pm to tenderfoot tigah
If you are getting proper sleep then I’d look at not eating carbs until you finish with work, having workout “snacks” (10 be squats every hour), and limiting caffeine.
My best diet for cognitive performance is
Breakfast: 1 Costco grass fed burger patty, two eggs, 2 oz of raw Gruyère cheese.
Lunch: 2 burger patties
Then anything else I eat will be post work.

re: Deer lease

What Ol Boy said. I’m a duck hunter who is about to transition to deer hunting and my plan is to have a decent lease in 5 years. That’s with a dad and friends who are relatively connected in that world. The good stuff that comes available rarely hits the market.
Your best bet is to network your way into the best lease available and hop to better properties as your deer hunting network expands over the years. If you have something to offer like heavy equipment then that can help too.

What types of fishing techniques do you plan to use? A rod for popping corks will be different than a rod for jigging.

and lets not pretend Fournette, Guice and Jeremy HIll didnt have the 3 best single RB seasons in LSU history and were either coached or recruited by Frank wilson
There’s a reason Frank has done so poorly his second stint here. He now has full autonomy of the RB room and his lack of competence has shown.
The whole offensive staff worked with the RB’s and run game planning under Miles. Miles even had a say in who we recruited at RB.
Frank recruited the state well in the pre NIL era and relied on HS coaches for evals of undercounted guys. He’s not longer useful
re: What line are y’all using for inshore saltwater (La)?

Mono backing seems to help a bit with this
re: Heading to Lake Pontchartrain Saturday. Few questions?

Fishing is just a hobby for me although my wife may describe it differently. Lake P is in my backyard and the first place I’ll fish when the big fish show up and the weather cooperates.

Spinning set ups: 10lb green suffix 832
Lake P bridges set up: 30lb high vis suffix 832
Jigging rod: 20lb green jbraid 8 strand
I use a 20lb mono leader for topwaters or suspending baits or 20lb fluro leader for jigging or sinking jerkbaits

Can’t help but I’ve always wanted to fish the bridge and tressels. Never could line up a trip with a buddy before he died.
Let me know if you want to scratch it off your bucket list

If the temps drop into the low 50s then the bridges turn off. Look for deeper holes and dead end canals at that point. Some will move back on the bridges with warming trends. No need for live bait this time of year. Most boats stack up on both bridges just south of the draw bridge. You can usually find spots to break away in the lake
re: Hopedale duck hunting question
Posted by hall59tiger on 11/28/25 at 8:41 am to Tiger55
It’s not a bad place to have a lease. Lots of good fishing north and south of the dam this time of year and you can also hunt the BM management area. Duck hunting in SE Louisiana has changed so much so no one lease is going to be consistent year after year. Ideally you grab a lease in a few different areas and hop around with the ducks.

BM has done well the last few years but the birds seem to concentrate closer to borgne. I don’t think that area will be super consistent but I wouldn’t doubt if you get a few good hunts out of it.

I actually disagree. This has been way too fun and LSU will get a good coach regardless. Our admin is locked in like never before and it’s only up from here after the BK fiasco

Catvhyalater (he posts here), Jar fishing, Louisiana produce man, marsh man Masson, Jon Miller are all good dudes who make inshore content in LA.

The latter part — that a search committee would be formed by the board — was news to the board’s chair, Scott Ballard, who, when told of the governor’s announcement during a local television interview on Wednesday night, said: “No, I didn’t know that.”
This is misleading. The reporter asked if the BOS would be leading the search and he said he didn’t know that. She didn’t say anything about a board approved committee leading the search.

this story feels like a response from woodward.
Was my first thought.
People keep acting like the LSU job completely changed after one press conference. The resources and fact that LSU will do whatever is needed to make sure its football program is success have not changed at all.
