He also used to make insinuating comments about his co host being a Homo

Was his co host Larry Leblanc?

In the mid 90s I worked for an airline in Lafayette. I’d had a roommate that was in a fraternity with his brother. I checked Larry Leblanc in once and then when I boarded the flight he waited to board last, after everybody was gone he finally gave the guy he was with a very long embrace, maybe even a peck. My naive 19 year old self was all, “Hey, is that your brother?!” He was like, uhhh no

If I can get an air conditioned cab I’d bush hog for the parish

Or

Get a job at a camp ground picking up trash bags on a golf cart or side by side and doing other simple tasks that keep me running around the grounds all day

Q: You know what’s better than having a rose on your piano?

A: Having tulips on your organ
Where I’m from would be this guy. There’s also a documentary on it called Bayou Blue

Ronald Dominique

Where I live now hasn’t had anything make the papers, although there was quite a bit of legendary back room operations happening with the Higgenbothams and Red’s Levee Bar

CSB: I coached and my kids played ball on the same field where Robert Duval killed his ex wife’s boyfriend in The Apostle

In Lafayette Parish my son went through the same thing only no fine at all, but had to do X hours of community service for a non profit
Yeah, it’s not well known, but some of the original cowboys were in Louisiana and were black.
Like a lot of yall, everything my dad does is baw shite, I could have told half the stories I’ve read. I’d say the most baw shite he ever did was before he retired, he was plugging and abandoning oil wells. This involved cutting the casing which was usually done down hole with chemical cutters, which are basically bombs. One particular job he had to cut the casing up near the surface so he used dynamite instead. He made sure he brought more than enough and had to have a police escort to the dock. When he started setting up he realized what he didn’t use he’d have to get an escort to bring it back so he said shite on it and used all of it. He had a safety meeting and then backed the crew boat up a safe distance and then set the charge. Still blew the damn windows out of the crew boat

I read that entire post in David Allen Cole’s voice and kind of singing along

If that ain’t country, I’ll kiss your arse

“Jammin on the one”

I heard in an interview once that there wasn’t anything in the script for them to say. When it was his turn that’s just what came out of his mouth in the moment. He said he didn’t even know what it meant or why he said it, it’s just what came out
Elvis Presley performed at the Cleveland Coliseum in Richfield, Ohio. He wore the Black Phoenix jumpsuit for the show, which was attended by a crowd of 21,000

I’m with you baw, born and raised on it, still eat it from time to time.

Take those down votes with pride.

We keep a pallet of it and Vienna sausage handy during hurricane season, then we snack on it the rest of the year

Ever hear the old joke?

Q: You know what Vienna sausage is?

A: Potted meat on hard

That was killer in 5th grade

In 8th grade my buddy offered me some gum in home room, it was laxative gum, thank God my 8th grade guts held strong until I got home. The prank worked, but did not achieve the desired results. I let him have it the next day anyway
Duvall St in Key West is basically Bourbon Street except it’s clean and there’s almost no riff raff, you can even walk the back alleys and it’s safe

My grandma graduated from Golden Meadow in the 40s, I think there was only 1 or 2 boys that attended graduation because the rest had already left to fight in WWII.

Saint Frances de Sales is still open K-8, Vandebuilt is the high school

I was impressed that they have some semblance of a stadium now. I played an American Legion game there in 93 and I’m pretty sure back then they just had home and visitor bleachers with a rinky dink press box in between like the high schools had at the time, I think the fence was chain link too.
Pretty much everything outside of utilities and food

I still remember going to junior high in the city and meeting kids from the suburbs and was like, “What is this world that you live in?”
