T9. Vanderbilt (24-17, 9-9) Composite Poll Ranking: NR RPI: 72nd DSR: 40th KPI: 59th Q1 & Q2: 7-11 (.388) Series remaining: #3 Texas, @ #15 Alabama, @Mizzou, South Carolina

This will be the most interesting team to watch for me. Two series left against two teams that would be absolute résumé movers in a positive direction with Bama and Texas, and they most definitely need to win at least one of those series and maybe even both. Then two series against teams they likely need to sweep in order to keep their slim hopes alive in Mizzou and USC.

It was a photoshopped picture of Olivier Rioux. He plays for Florida and isn't transferring nor do I think we would want him to

He is transferring but he’s not gonna get much interest from P4 level teams. He needs to go to a mid-major and go the Tacko Fall route.

Auburn has already played 29 Q1 + Q2 games and likely will play 12 more Q1 games??

41 Q1 + Q2 games
that is absurd and awesome at the same time..

Got lucky that all of our non con opponents have held up and of course the meatgrinder that is the SEC is, well, the SEC.

And that resume looks amazing on paper. We should firmly be a top 8 seed if the season ended today.

Here's something that will blow your mind, if you know what SEC record historically gets you a regional host: Warren Nolan has Vandy projected to finish 17-13, but to end up with an RPI of 67.

Non con play did a ton of damage

He does. As I saw one of our twitter people put it, think Johni with less leaping ability

A crafty big that can grind down low may be just what we need.

Brad Law should be our baseball pbp guy. This is excellent.

Nothing quite like a gorgeous bunt putting all kinds of pressure on the defense.

We have had some serious issues injuries but have put a great season together. We arent deep so if our starters struggle, we arent very good at the backups.

I dunno I actually really like the lineup. All we need is for Steele and Belyeu to get back to the standard of play they gave us last year and this offense goes from serviceable to freaking good.

Question we take away from the weekend is what to do with Mason McCraine. He’s got too much power to be a lineup squeeze going forward.
Don’t read too much into a spring game.

If they were that important Barrett Trotter would have been starting over Cam in 2010 lol.
It’s the hitting. When it’s on it is on but it’s not been timely at all.

It was expected to be the strength of this roster so that got turned on its head. Our pitching allows us to hang with anyone though.

As of now I expect us to take the series at home.

The point being RPI isn’t an end all be all in the process

It’s not but again highly correlated and your 44 SOS is currently UGA’s hold up.

That will obviously improve as we get deeper into SEC play, not to mention GT in the midweek.

RPI and hosting are highly correlated. Obviously it’s not 1 to 1 but the committee still relies pretty heavily upon it.

UGA currently sits at 19th in RPI lol. Texas, Ole Miss, Auburn, Bama and Florida are all top 8. A&M and OU are top 16.

If the season ended right now, the SEC would have five of the top eight national seeds and seven of the host spots overall. Oddly, the team currently leading the SEC wouldn’t be one of them.

SEC baseball is ratfricking insane.

I love baseball. You can be simultaneously fifth in the SEC standings yet be considered a top five team nationally.

Ffs Mods start pinning these threads again.

I get LSU is having a rough season. No reason to take it out on everyone else.

Omaha is the goal. Everything behind it is house money.
