It’s embarrassing compared to other broadcasts with actual professional play by play and color guys.

He was the cheapest option I think. He’s just awful and hasn’t gotten any better at all. You go from one of the best to outright worst and it’s not even close.
Absolutely true. He’s awful. I feel I like a highschool lost its play by play guy. He should be doing color. They should have hired Sean Kelley to do the job.

Saints get robbed , Pelicans tanking and now shrimp boat gettung a contract extension. The disappointment continues. Hope LSU basketball can get that win tonight.
They should be jailed indefinitely and their kids taken from them.

I’m sure he will be well compensated but I can’t see Sean being pissed. Saints have had a top 5 offense for 13 seasons now. I’m sure Sean was happy to see him get a shot at LSU to make an impact.

Based on what information do you know that Sean Payton is pissed this guy is leaving to take a coaching position at LSU? If Sean wanted him to stay so bad why didn’t he promote him and give him a raise? Just trying to understand where your information is from? I’m sure the Saints will be just fine without him. Pete Carmichael is still there and other assistants are too. Not sure how it’s a home run hire because we have no information besides your post to back that up.

I’m tired of posts by yourself and TigerRee constantly giving this man praise constantly without any type of criticism. Maybe you’re Ponamsky or work on the staff or worked for him but the constant praise is over the top. Praise the team for winning a game but stop with the hero worship of a guy who lied to fans.

He’s done nothing to be mentioned with the top Qbs in college football. Beating the 87th ranked def in a bowl game isn’t a big deal. Stop it already.

You’re comparing a guy doing color to a guy doing the play by play. No issue with Zach doing color. He’s more suited to that role. A professional play by play person should have been chosen to do the job or Zach should have gone to the college ranks to learn how to do it. He shouldn’t get time to “settle” in to the job. Many talented people have waited for year to do a job like this and an amateur with an iPad was given the job.
Actually that’s not true. There are lots of great play by play guys across the league. Saints have 32/32 and it’s not even close how bad he is compared to others. Listen to NFL radio on XM when the Saints aren’t on and hear the comparison.
Westwood One will carry the game too. Aikman and Joe are awful too.

He can go call that in his bathroom and pretend he’s a play by play guy. Saints can find someone better in the role.
He will never be that good. Doesn’t have the voice for it on top of that. He’s not a good fit and the Saints and Entercomm should move Sean Kelley into the role and get some professionalism back in the position.
Agreed. Brees record breaking pass earlier in the season was absolute garbage and someone else would have done it better justice. He’s an embarrassment to the profession.

I could give a shite how much he cares for the team. I need someone who can accurately describe a game week after week. He struggles with it. Has no radio voice. He’s a train wreck.
The Saints had clear better options in Sean Kelley and Joel Meyers to take over that role who do fantastic work with the Pelicans broadcasts and who have called Football games before. Strief is an amateur with an ipad and it’s sad that someone at Entercomm even allowed him to interview for a job he clearly wasn’t even qualified to do. Put him on countdown to kickoff or something.
