People can choose to believe what they want, but by my count you now have two reputable industry people saying there is a class in place, plus an insider on a paid message board saying the same. I don't see the benefit of waiting, but I think it's safe to say they definitely have at least part of the roster completed.

Wade has his reasons for handling it the way he is. People want instant gratification or a reason to say “haha, I told you so.” NCSU fans on X are gloating. It’s really foolish to believe there are no players who’ve agreed to be at LSU. I’m content letting it play out. I don’t need to know today what I’ll know when all is said and done.

Yes
I saw this post and am curious why Wade and Stoudamire would be at the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament. The PIT account states: “Pre-combine tournament where the country's best seniors compete for NBA teams + international scouts.”

re: Fear of spiders

As long as a spider isn’t on me I’m fine. I feel like they keep other insects at bay. If I see one indoors though I will kill it and scare the kids with it before I flush it.

Snakes spook me if I walk up on one, but i know snakes are more scared of me than I am of them. However I would kill a poisonous snake if it were near my house. Oddly enough I’ve never come across a poisonous snake, at least one that I’ve laid eyes on.

Recently my kids came running inside screaming for me to come “kill” a snake in the yard. I got excited to see what we had. It was a large, beautiful speckled king snake. I took the opportunity to teach them (again) that there are good snakes and bad snakes - this was a good one and keeps bad snakes away. I’m not sure they were convinced, but they didn’t protest when I said we’d leave him alone.

Roaches? I don’t like those useless bastards. They’re dirty. When I was about 10 I saw one fly (glide?) across the living room. I exhibited professional-athlete-level muscle twitch getting out of that room.

NC State had 6 players on the roster (2 returning and 4 recruits), so the urgency was lower.

Valid point
I’m not assuming that he’s going to sign an all star roster when you have 15 spots to fill year 1. But he did replace an entire roster at NC State and win a lot more games than the prior season. Sure, the play-in isn’t a field of 64 game, but it is a tournament game.

We have no clue what the General has lined up. Just as with football you judge these things after all the hay is in the barn.

Payton used to be VERY open with it, and blab about it to everyone that would listen, especially on golf courses

It’s probably what cost us Mahomes.

Pretty strong two-year run.

New LSU football coach Lane Kiffin, AKA “The Portal King,” has not exactly opened the NCAA Transfer Portal window with a splash.

Glenn, go back to bed.

Michigans lineup were transfers but a few of their starters/contributors were there multiple years. They weren’t all year one guys there

It was also Dusty May’s second season at Michigan.
This isn’t your Grandma’s college basketball. It’s a new age of pick up ball. I think Michigan’s entire starting lineup were transfers.

Could be any reason. Doesn't matter the reason and no point in us trying to figure it out.

Correct. For the people thinking we got outbid and couldn’t pay up, that’s not likely the case.

Could it be PJH asked for a number Wade wasn’t willing to go, not because he couldn’t but because he didn’t value him at that number?

This sums up this pitiful bastard better than anything I could have come up with myself. What a self-absorbed, self-unaware titty baby.
I’m curious to know what it costs to reserve a bay.
There has been a turn to a more offensive-led philosophy. As a fan that can be fun. But I do remember the days when the one given in life was that LSU would have a solid defense. And that was equally exciting and a calling card I think you need to win in the playoffs.

It is interesting to contemplate where in the pecking order GA Tech would be in the SEC had it not left. I don’t know that Tulane would have had great success had it remained in the conference, but where would you place GA Tech 2026 had it never walked away from the SEC? I don’t know enough about Tech to make an honest assessment, I just perceive it could be upper half. I mean it did win a NC in 1990, so not like it’s had no success post SEC.

I second that motion
Well thought out post, I generally agree with most of your points. But I don’t agree the SEC is anyone’s lap dog. Nor do I think the Big 10, Big 12, ACC, or any other conference was ever the SEC’s lapdog. That’s not really how I view it.

Re: paying players, from my recollection reading about sports here and there over the years you can probably point to Bear Bryant and John Wooden as the architects of wholesale. But, hell, I don’t know. Whoever perfected it and “won” because of it good on ‘em. Honesty in recruiting and sports died a long time ago across the spectrum of college athletics.
