You don't understand how strict enforcement of SOLs limits government and is a libertarian principle?

A strict Libertarian SOL defender would be appalled at what New York state SOL ruling did to get Trump and yet you defended it.
quote:

That's a pivot

That's a fact

The entire case was bullshite and you're using examples of them extended it a month perfectly extended to get Trump within the 5 year window with a year and two months added on. Totally on the up and up.

quote:

Statutes of limitations and statutes of repose that would otherwise expire during the period between March 16 and April 6, 2020 are hereby extended to April 7, 2020.” A copy of the order is available here.

quote:

On March 13, the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Louisiana entered Administrative Order 2020-1 under which “[p]rescriptive, preemptive and statute of limitation deadlines are hereby interrupted until April 13, 2020.”

The Trump case was essentially a year and 2 months.

quote:

The judge chose not to address it in his ruling, but prosecutors also argued in opposing Trump's motion to dismiss that New York criminal procedure law allows the statute of limitations deadline to be extended when someone has been "continuously outside" of the state. Prosecutors contend Trump's presidency, from 2017 to 2021, met this standard, extending the charging window.

quote:

Appeals over the statute of limitations often boil down to an argument over when the clock started running, Stanley Brand, a former general counsel to the U.S. House of Representatives and distinguished fellow at Penn State Dickinson Law, told USA TODAY. That question, however, is complicated by the nature of Trump's case, with misdemeanors being elevated to felonies.

Germain said he wondered whether the statute of limitations might apply to the underlying – and uncharged – crimes that made falsifying business records a felony.

"I could imagine a court saying that you can't put together two or three" misdemeanors that are beyond the statute of limitations and turn them into a felony that hasn't reached that time limit, he said.

He compared the case to "stacked Russian dolls," with charges that rely on an underlying crime, which itself relies on another underlying crime.

"That's why it's such a difficult case to understand," Germain said.

That also has a 5-year SOL

Libertarian conservative lawyer leaning on SOL is peak after all the bullshite he saw done to Trump that he defended that went past SOL.

Trump is a convicted Rapist

Now we pretend we understand nuance on SOL but we didn't understand the difference between civil and criminal when we could call Trump a rapist.

Cute

That happened in most jurisdictions.

You can't be serious.

The Covid stuff had nothing to do with Trump

Nah, they just used that and a host of other things like taking a Misdemeanor and making it felonies by saying it was used to mask another crime even though they never laid to bear what that crime was.

Totally didn't use this bullshite to get Trump.

Dumb fk
quote:

What criminal case are you referring to?

quote:

New York statute of limitations extended by COVID-19
The crimes Trump was convicted of date back more than five years, but they withstood an initial court challenge because of a pandemic-era extension.

Trump was indicted on March 30, 2023, more than six years after the earliest charge in the indictment, which dates to Feb. 14, 2017. That's beyond the five years typically allowed by the statute of limitations, but there's a catch: Former New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo extended the time limit to file charges in all criminal cases when courts were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020

I'm sure you supported this
quote:

I'm curious what crimes they're alleging from 2020 aren't dead due to the SOL running last November

SOL doesn't mean shite anymore. We stopped caring about that fake bullshite when they went after Trump for shite that didn't happen decades ago.

There are 3 guys in the top 15 (Curtis, Cantwell, & Guyton) that would have signed with Kirby prior to NIL.

Looking at the Top 25 recruits and not a single one commited to Georgia is just hard to look at.

Then looking again and seeing one that left us for Vandy

Then seeing the number one QB committed to - HOUSTON

Weird times to be sure

Hell, you have Alabama basketball playing former pro basketball players to win in college. The entire landscape of college sports is becoming laughable.

College sports at one time were get the best recruits you could get out of high school, develop them for 3 years and hopefully get the payoff from that development and now it's Free Agency on steroids. We already have players going to the NFL that transferred to a different team every season. I do agree we do fine in the current landscape, but our model entirely leans on high school recruiting while other teams' models have shifted to a spending model leaning more on the portal. Time will tell on which model ends up being the most successful, but it has brought some new faces into the spotlight at programs that have never won - because they have money.

We do get talented kids out of the portal and use it to help our roster but I do think Kirby prefers a certain type of kid which has led to a tough roster that can beat anyone but we have also shown some weaknesses the last few years that maybe could have been addressed in the portal but I also get that everyone in the country is also after those same kids to address weaknesses.

GETTTING PAID

On July 26, 2023, Thomas signed a five–year, $117.5 million contract extension with the Giants.[19] The deal included $67 million guaranteed at signing and set a new NFL record for an offensive lineman.[20]

I do think UGA has a stronger NIL pool than the public perceives. Our roster is more expensive to retain than most, and retention doesn’t create headlines.

I don't think so - Maybe for a D1 program we have a decent NIL pool but if you compare us to the spenders - I would venture to say we probably don't even spend in the top 25 spenders and ill list why

We lose just as many kids as everyone else - So our retention doesn't seem to be some anomaly where we retain better than others and we also when you see where most of the talented transfers are going - It's the same teams in on almost all that are considered to be players with a huge NIL bid going on. We are never in those conversations.

We've also lost players that were starting for us - that I'm guessing were bought for more than we were willing to spend and went to teams like Mizzouri - etc - Former 5 stars at that.

We were probably the last team in the conference to build an actual nice indoor facility to the point - everyone else was hard recruiting against us for our lack of facilities - this went on for years before it was finally rectified. That says to me - we can be quite the penny pinchers and not as serious about our sports as some other programs. There are teams out there that would have their coach's wife bang a recruit if it meant landing them and then there are programs like ours that don't want to play the game as much as others. Coach Smart has talked that they prefer to retain kids over taking transfers and I would venture to say those kids would come discounted over spending on what an open market player at that same position would cost.

Just an opinion - could be wrong

Can't ever remember coming close to seeing a list like this with so few Georgia logos on it.

Heres the crazy thing - Georgia won back to back National Titles and has dropped in recruiting every year since and its starting to get into Mark Richt levels. My theory on this is - We were always told if you win - recruits will want to play for your program - Bama was known for this line when they would never admit to paying for players - What I think is happening is - We don't have the backroom finances to compete and probably never will again on the open market for players.

He just sat and read the board here and never posted for 3 years. How dare you accuse him of altering and circle jerking his own content for clicks.

Anyways,

Lets see if Bulldawg2010 also hits the portal.

Portal season is an exciting time - Semperfi pulled a Carson Beck because he can't handle making the playoffs every season. It's just so painful. Imaging being a fan of a team and them losing a playoff game and the first thing you do is tuck your nuts and run. Classic

Is it the QBs responsibility to do this or the OLs job to try and keep the passing lanes open? I don’t see how. QB can be expected to be looking downfield and watch how the DL is twisting at the same time.

Some of his throws had no loft at all, he was literally throwing darts right into the line. Like , how can you expect the line to prevent raised hands when the QB is putting zero loft on the ball?
That damn Carson Beck going to a National Title game.
