Yeah so bottom line is that a decent number play college ball at smaller programs (most weren't mentioned in this thread), and there were a few exceptions that had a role on sec teams. It's not a talent farm by any stretch, but I enjoyed my time there including playing football.

For some there isn't really an alternative, at least not a realistically better one. Some jobs can easily be changed, others not. Some people can move for their kids to be near a better school, while others can't. I will say that I didn't really understand why the richer parents sent their kids there, but for others it's just the best available option.
Also, Taylor bunch played some rb/fb at Mississippi st I think.
As for mpsa, will overstreet played at Tennessee and was I believe a third rounder. He played at Jackson prep.
