For the average person, how has he helped us financially? He bragged about it in his speech, but what has he done to help the average person?

I don't need or want "help", just lower my taxes and let me do my thing!

The question would be, who is most likely to have done this?

My vote...REBEL5 AC

Just assumed ... seeing the script A ... that a Bammer was bitching about Lane Kiffin. My mistake.

That's not a mistake.... you are a fricking idiot!

Here's a thought ... lets see what Lane Kiffin actually does, Year One, at LSU.

Its a nutty concept, sure. But that's where I'm at with it. Maybe he's good ? Maybe he takes corn-dog to a new level ?

All this conjecture though ? Get a hobby.

What the frick are you babbling about you stupid fricking hillbilly?

How many threads have you started about LSU this month?

I bet that far exceeds both of those numbers.

Take a look at his post history just his weekend.

Starting Friday night he has been posting about LSU almost non-stop all weekend.

If you go back further, his post history reads like the diary of a madman as it relates to his obsession with LSU!

Crazy Fact of the Day

bama has been to 1 Final Four since 1939! :rotflmao:
quote:

A solid A+

As a few others ITT have said, it's hard to give any coach an A+ without any hardware.

Curt Cignetti gets an A+ for winning a NC at one of the worst programs historically in CFB.

quote:

Now, I wouldn't say that will translate over to LSU. It could.

I agree, our schedule will be tougher and the expectations/pressure higher than what he faced at OM.

He won 10 or more games in 4 of the past 5 years at OM and they were thrilled and wanted to marry the hoe as they have said.

At LSU, 10-11 games will be expected and he will feel the heat if he doesn't win at that level after year one for sure.

quote:

If i were an LSU fan, I would be very excited about the possibilities, .

He has definitely brought energy and excitement back to the program in a way that Kelly never did.

We tried to like him...I think he tried to like us (maybe)....but it didn't play out like expected as you said.
quote:

He had great chemistry at Ole Miss that he probably won't replicate again. Sucks for us. Sucks worse for him. Sucks most for LSU.

I would’ve fired him after 24 so you’re barking up the wrong tree pal

You are one tough cookie!

You would have fired the only coach since Vaught to win 10 or more games in back-to-back seasons (2023-2024)?

The same coach who would go 11-1 in 2025 and lead Ole Miss to its first ever CFP game?

C+ when you consider how he disappeared the week of the Kentucky game that one year. That’s as unprofessional as it gets.

What grade would you give a coach that got beaten by 21 in the SECCG then said "hold my beer" and then lost 35 in the CFP?
quote:

Is there a reason you left Johnny Vaught off? (Answer is “yes, there is”):

quote:
Johnny Vaught is the winningest coach in Ole Miss football history, compiling a 190-61-12 record (.745) from 1947–1970 and 1973. He led the Rebels to three national championships (1959, 1960, 1962), six SEC titles, and 18 bowl games. Vaught was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1979.

Johnny Vaught was a great coach and that is a given to anybody who knows anything about SEC football history.

I acknowledged this when I referred to his greatness to start the topic.

People are quick to forget that Ole Miss just doesn't win 10-11 games on a regular basis at all since Vaught.

I wanted to make sure people understood this before asking them to grade the job he had done there.

quote:

B+ ....winning a playoff game would have made it higher. You can't give any modern CFB an A without a playoff win now...think that is very fair to say.

B+ is totally fair, but Lane coached them to an 11-1 regular season record and would have beaten Tulane in his first CFP game.

Tiger rant.

Thanks for the thoughtful and insightful reply.

I really appreciate that you took the time to edit a two word post to get it just right! :rotflmao:

Effort. You could see it in his emotions on the sidelines vs the year before. He was on a mission to move on. That’s why he did his E:60 PR tour over the summer.

I did not follow his time at Ole Miss as closely as you did (obviously), but I get what you are saying.

Thanks for replying, I knew this topic would be sensitive all things considered.

I'm actually surprised and appreciative that most Rebels fans in this thread gave me an honest reply.

I give Ole Miss an A+ from saving his drunken picked arse from likely committing suicide by jumping off a boat in the Gulf Stream.

I'll take that as an F for Lane!

A-

Only reason it’s not A+ is because of how it ended and because he massively fricked up the 2024 team. There is absolutely zero excuse for that team to have gone 10-3.

The Kentucky loss was the biggest head-scratcher and I agree it was inexcusable with that team.

The losses to LSU and Florida on the road are somewhat acceptable IMO.

Thanks for the honest reply!
quote:

Anybody who says anything other than A+ is not a serious person.

Curt Cignetti gets an A+ (assuming we agree that's the highest grade we can give) for what he did at one of the worst programs historically in CFB.

I honestly can't give an A+ to any coach who has not won their conference or a NC. But to each his own....that's why I asked.
quote:

Oh absolutely. But as successful as this years squad was, last years team would have destroyed this years given equal coaching.

I'm assuming you are referring to the turmoil that was going on in Lane's personal life (self-inflicted) last year?

What changed this year? I think I know what you mighty say, but I'm curious.
