Oh I agree those LBs are nasty. No doubt about that.

But Chavis has been 1 of the best LBs coach and D. Coordinators in the country the pat 15+ years. The LBs he has put out is ridiculous.

And didnt UCLA just lose Spanos to the NFL? Also, you think yall will promote Ulbrich to DC?

Yall had a great LB core this past year, but Chavis has been putting out big time LBs for the past 15+ years. Cant deny that. He consistently develops really good LBs every year.

Yep Spanos went NFL. The question is how much of the D AND second half adjustments (UCLA was unreal for the most part at this) were Spanos and how much was it Mora... One of Spanos issues (at least as far as CFB) was that he did not recruit at all.

Word is that Ulbrich is the next DC. Most Bruin fans are over the moon with this. Ulbrich is a coaching star on the rise. 10 year NFL vet that got by more on guile and working his butt off Vs big NFL talent. Anthony Barr became a STAR in his first ever year playing LBer under Ulbrich. Ulbrich is one of, if not THE best recruiters on a staff full of great recruiters. If a spot had not opened for Ulbrich he would have moved up and out within a few years... If UCLA pulls Young it will be because of Ulbrich.

I completely agree with you when it comes to Mora & UCLA. Nobody knows who will follow Hundley.

The depth chart is wide open for Dupre and Young would receive the best Linebacker coaching available in college football.

Jordan Zumwalt, Myles Jack and Anthony Barr would disagree.

Gotta agree, I have lived out there on and off for work for last 4 years, Los Angeles and California for that matter, aint all that. WEIRD people abound, Traffic is a nightmare (God help you if get stuck on the 405) and its ungodly expensive to live. It sells an illusion, like hollywood. I am so happy when i leave and go back to the real world. And Mora will be gone to the NFL very soon. Think hard about it

Sure he will... Just like he would be gone as soon as the job at Washington opened up... Just like he'll be gone as soon as the big boys come knocking (Texas). Coach Mora has kids in the teens to 20 year old age group and he LIKES making a difference with them. His parents also live in the area and one son attends college in the area. I doubt he would leave for the NFL in the next 4-5 years. He's already been there and done that.

Yeah, it's my understanding that UCLA is a beautiful place, surrounded by beautiful people.

USC's in a much rougher neighborhood. At least that's what I've been told/heard.

It's amazing to me that schools like UCLA aren't perennial championship contenders. I mean, if you were a top athlete and could go anywhere, why would you ever choose Blacksburg, South Bend, Tuscaloosa, or Baton Rouge for that matter over Miami or Los Angeles?

UCLA has never had a really good coach until now... :nana:

How many end up going to LSU?

2013 changes in NCAA bylaws

Here is the NCAA manual, I don't see any restrictions on the limit of asst coaches that can accompany the HC on his visit (other than the total allowed # of coaches which is 10)

How many end up going to LSU? From what I've read not that many.

and now you're trolling. Congrats. You came in, asked for evidence, received negative feedback, and then moved on to childish behavior.

Nice.

Honestly, this board is usually pretty civil and is open to a lot of discussion. If you want to talk recruiting, I'll talk with you, but don't troll. You're fans are welcome over here and your opinion is respected, but let's at least be civil.

Not all were civil... The article linked was 4 years old, many rules have changed over the course of the last 4 years.

As far as Young and Dupre... Both have visited UCLA multiple times on their own dime and are now on an OV to UCLA on the last weekend before NSD. I don't think it's out of the blue that many UCLA fans think we are leading for these guys. If LSU was going to get them I think they would have already committed to the "home town" school.

This guy claims that Porter is ours to have on NSD *provided* that Malachi goes elsewhere. First I'd heard of that.

Congrats on Porter.

That is a link to a 2010 article. I wouldn't be surprised if the rule has been changed.

mora brought like 8 coaches to see chi and the nola kids....which is a violation

Can you link me to that rule? Thanks.
