[quote]Those blanks are

Eddie Murphy

Eddie Murphy got caught picking up a he-she...

And he came to prominence in the 80s, when the AIDS Scare was on.

"This creator can't precisely deny that the chap you mention had nothing to do with it."

Trump's presidential campaign has already done some good.
ISIS are ruthless and crazy; I wouldn't put it past them to actually go after Israel eventually.

They're already in Gaza, threatening to topple Hamas.

And Big O is not overly fond of Israel...it will be interesting to see what happens.
I went to a mostly-black elementary school until fourth grade.

There was a girl named Aquanet. It was pronounced Awk-wuh-nay.

Edit: Yewkindewit got it first.

A majority should not be able to deny the rights to a minority.

That's exactly what the supposed gay marriage-supporting majority are doing.
quote:

You do realize that the majority of Americans support gay marriage, right?

Opinion polls are not voting booths.

The majority have voted against gay marriage. Out of 85 million votes cast in 39 elections in 35 states, over 51 million of them were to keep marriage between a man and a woman.

The Supreme Court has declared today that their votes are irrelevant.

That's the issue.

Like the abortion ruling, it's going to drive a bigger wedge deep into the country, and divide it even more.
quote:

John Adams coined the term "Tyranny of the Majority."

And, as of today, it's been replaced with "Tyranny of the Five".

The majority of people who opposed gay marriage, their votes do not matter any more.

That's the real issue.

In 50 years people will think of it the same way they think of segregation now.

Yep, the status quo will never, ever change again.

The end of history is officially here.

Like segregation?

The race card, I see.

They also ruled the death penalty unconstitutional, before reversing their decision only four years later.

Do you understand that 100 million wouldn't be close to half of our country, right?

Just sayin'

I thought a nice, round number would aid your comprehension.

Regardless, there is a reason it has to be pushed through by the courts. The people do not want gay marriage, and if it truly were our decision, it would never pass.

When they aren't purging Christianity, Southern culture, and American history, 'live and let live' is practically all they do.
A hundred million said no, five said yes.

Democracy.
Damn allergies acting up again.
Had Holland been Belgium, we would have beaten the #1 and #2 teams in the world in the space of a week.
Sat in the CCU to watch a loved one slip away. Sad, but thankful for eternity.

For those missing someone today...hang in there.
"Buck Nasty, you are so dark, when you touch yourself, it's like black on black crime."
It's too late now, but Earthsky.org does a bitchin preview of the night sky, every day. Tells you what will be out there, be they planets, noteworthy constellations, comets, and so on.
I remember a manhunt going down on Barksdale when I was a kid. It happened on the East Reservation, near Haughton. Apparently some sort of armed convict was loose, and MPs with M-16s were out and about.

I think the neighborhood kids may have been out of school at the time, though my memory is dim; I remember our parents keeping us inside that day.
To be fair, 'suicide by nail gun' is a little odd.

Something is seriously wrong with the way these cops are being trained.

American infantry have stricter rules of engagement than the police. They should probably flip things around.
You lose the moral high ground by torturing them.

Bringing them to justice by lethal means would be a different story. The jihadists have most definitely declared No Quarter (whatever snivelling bitches like Richard Dawkins may say) and one would have no obligation to accept any surrender or even attempt to capture them.

This is inevitable. Our economy is based on counterfeit money, essentially. It's a big shell game waiting to completely crash.

There seems to be a crash every seven years.

2008, obviously.

2001, 9/11 played hell on stocks.

1994, a really bad bond market.

1987, black Tuesday.

And so on.

7 years from 2008 would be next year, if the cycles hold up.

A lurching downturn in the economy that causes the world financial system to break down.

You said "event", so... a terrible stock market crash.

Some historical scholars view WWI and WWII as different time periods of one continuous conflict.

I had that very notion in mind.
An interesting wrinkle to consider: if we'd stayed out of WWI, Hitler would have never risen to prominence in the first place.

I'm glad this thread was bumped, wanted to ask about this pic. Because I think it's the scariest thing in all of it.

I don't really believe in the divine aspects of Karmic retribution. Just a inner feeling of peace. In the in it's our perception of ourselves that will shape our lives the most.

I'm thinking that if it's true we weren't created, and we weren't put here for some purpose, then nothing we do matters. So that feeling of peace you talk about would be an illusion, or the byproduct of growing up in a traditionally religious society.

I've always thought the biggest appeal of not believing in a god is being free to do whatever you want as long as you have the will and the strength. It seems crazy to abandon one's god-belief if one is just going to act like he exists anyway.

And I'm not trying to tell anyone how to live their lives, it's definitely none of my business. Just making a general observation.
Hindus have a pantheon of gods. And Shinto literally means 'way of the gods'.

Maybe 'Creator' is a better word to use.
I've never understood it when people who don't believe in God go on about the karma of someone else. I would think the universe doesn't give a crap one way or the other.
