Take a medical unit in Afghanistan. You have minimal combat personnel but from time to time they would come under mortar fire that would require all personnel to shelter in bunkers until the insurgents could be taken out. Non-combat personnel aren't all prepared for that.
Plus, those people are classified through the VA as PTSD, not just on their own word.
There are a lot of people who play the disability game post enlistment to get portions of their retirement to be non-taxable. So not all people who have disabled veteran tags are actually disabled.

Second, it's not to help them.
They are being flooded into other Nations, given free everything by Globalists, to eventually have them become voting entities that will vote away rights and give further control to Globalists so that citizens can not reverse course.
