re: Minnesota

Minnesota's name comes from the Dakota language, derived from the Dakota name for the Minnesota River, Mnisota, meaning either "sky-tinted waters" or "cloudy water," with the more descriptive translation being "land where the water reflects the sky". This name was adopted for the territory and then the state, honoring the Indigenous people and the significant river system.

“Polis” means city.
Love my president. :usa: :nana:
I’m 5’11”, turn 43 tomorrow, been thin/skinny my whole life. In the last 12 months I’ve blown up to 190 (was 170-175). Two weeks ago I realized I eat too much crap, fried food, too much late night snacking, and decided to make changes.

I’m down to 185 and it’s like a game to me now because I DON’T WANT TO BE FAT! I want my clothes to fit better again.

Oprah is so stupid. It’s not a dumb gene that only Americans have.
Followed a week later by the Debacle on the Delaware.
It’s 15 fricking degrees. I don’t care if you’re born and raised in Minnesota, that is obscenely cold to be outside.

There's about to be a $5 BILLION Entertainment district right beside the Falcons stadium and you New Orleans/LSU are going to cringe and bitch more about Atlanta even more when they are finished with it.

Woohoo! A sterile corporate entertainment district!
I’m MAGA AF, but let’s relax. This is really a non-issue. I’ll start worrying when she’s fighting ICE, and talking Mamdani level bullshite. If she can focus on getting traffic signals and street lights working, fixing roads, drainage, etc, crime reduction, that’s all we need.
Electricity. Homeownership. This is a good sign. He’s starting to focus on domestic issues. Love what he’s doing with foreign policy but it’s time to focus domestically

How big is Pensacola now and how big do you think it should be?

I’m not saying it should be anything. I was just curious on why Pensacola is not another Jacksonville or even Tampa. It’s over 500 years old so it’s had a lot of time to develop. A lot of good responses in this thread.

It’s really 100-200 feet above sea level even though it’s on the beach?

The bulk of the metro is not on the beach. That’s like 10 miles away.

Map in meters

I’d like to know the answer to your question as well. I always thought that I’d end up retiring somewhere between there and Destin.

Gulf Breeze and eastward is growing, but it’s primarily retirees and military.

I could answer you sir, but I would face a rather lengthy vacation from this rather astute gathering of gentlemen.

Really.
It’s in Florida, so it benefits from the state laws that the big cities in Florida contend with…. Beautiful beaches… Historical center… exceptionally large harbor to build a competitive seaport… railroads in multiple directions…a lot of military… 100-200 feet above sea level
