the refs stole the Indiana game both in 81 and 87.

This is so true, but if Rudy had not had a broke finger, LSU would have won anyway. He missed alot of shots around the basket that were money shots before he broke his finger. Couldn't get the right touch on the ball with his finger wrapped.

Do LSU fans really think the game was fixed

The Ganme was not fixed. There could have been something that went down in the LSU locker room that caused the Tigers to come out flat, but that had nothing to do with the fact that Bama came ready to play and just flat out whipped LSU.

Bama will be much better prepared for the option

LSU will also be better prepared for those little short passes to Richardson. Outside of those few passes, LSU shut him down.
There is no reason for them to be nervous. They will be playing LSU on 1/09/12. Now once they announce it will be Bama and LSU, that's when they should start getting nervous.
It's true. He signed with LSU and my nephew who played with Devall signed with La Tech.

And Hanks, I wasn't even sure you played last night

Yep, he played. He was the guy who wasn't suppose to be on the field when Bama was flagged in overtime for breaking the huddle with 12 men.

Then you have Hawkins, a failure as a coach, etc

Hawkins picked LSU to win.

This win is more satisfying than the 82 series but sting from 85 is never going to leave. 87 was a team like this one just couldn't win in the Dome though. Pendleton hitting cleanup for a hurt Clark, I wonder if it would have mattered though.

No! It was that damm white roof. our guys couldn't find the ball half the time.
You have a reason to be proud. Great job by your daugther.

Just as an FYI, the Carnival ships (sounds like OP is on the Triumph) have crappy international satellite lineups.

This! The internet is out of the question on a Carnival ship.

my guess is that 870 will be your only radio option

Thanks everyone. I still hoping that the game will be on at least one tv somewere on the boat, but if not, I can at least listen to it on a good station.
Thanks! Yes I'm planning on making my rounds and see if it's on in any of the bars, but I hope we can convince them to put it on the big screen. Last year we were coming back in and they put the game between the Saints and the Redskins on. When the Saints came back to win that game, I thought those fools were going to sink the boat with all that jumping up and down.
My wife and I will be leaving New Orleans on a cruise at 4pm saturday, and was wondering if someone could tell me what would be the best radio station to listen to the game on. We get 98.1 up here, but I don't know if that is the best station to listen to the game below New Orleans. The ship won't be out of the mouth of the river until around midnight, so we should be able to listen to the game. I'm hoping there will be enough people wanting to see the game, that the crew will put the game on the big screen on lido deck, but I want to at least listen to it if they don't.
Did that. It still won't work. But thanks to everyone for the help.

I just tried it with the VPN thing they posted
What's a VPN thing?
No. I got my daughter to set up my account on ESPN3 today, because I thought it meant I had to activate my account while using ATT. But I still can't get remote access to activate.
I have ATT access to ESPN3 at home. I'm in Kentucky trying to get remote access. When I click on remote access, it instructs me to sign in. After I sign in, I get a message to select my provider from a list (I click ATT). After that I get a message that I have to sign in while using my service provider.

On the other hand, if I sign in first and then try to activate remote access, it tells me to select provider from list. I select ATT & get a message to "sign in below" but there's no sign in space given.

What am I doing wrong here?

How about wait to see if Jefferson fails against a team that isn't the #1 team in the country

He already has. Several times. We might have won, but it wasn't because Jefferson was playing worth a crap. The defense helped us alot. Sure Jefferson has had little spurts were he played well, but he has played bad more times than he has played good. I don't know if Lee would do any better, but he did have a few monets last year were he played lights out. It might turn out to be a mistake, but we will never know unless he gets a chance. I'm not saying anybody is wrong or right about their opinions, I just think you have to try something different when your defense keeps putting you in a position to beat the #1 team in the nation and you haven't did nothing on the offensive side of the ball for 3 quarters.

I see were several people here have already mentioned Port of Call. I'm not from New Orleans, and can not give you a large list of places to eat, but any one who visits New Orleans, should try Port of Call. You will not regret going, I promise. Any one in the quarter can tell you how to get there.
Enjoy your trip.

So Notre Dame sucked back then too?

Actually Notre Dame had a pretty good team that year. They came into Tiger stadium earlier that same year and kicked our arse. The Independence Bowl was a rematch game.

It always freezing when LSU plays in the Independence bowl. It snowed a little in '97 when we played Notre Dame.

That was the coldest I've ever been at a football game. I've been to a lot of cold games in tiger stadium in my life, but at that game, I actually had sleet sticking and building up on my slicker. That 25 mph wind coming across that stadium didn't help matters either.

Art Cantrelle is pure evil, formed of twisted blue steel and raised in the smoldering fires of HELL.

I know there's been alot of names mentioned here that could have the honor of being called the "Meanest Tiger Ever", but I can tell all of you, Art Cantrell was a mean SOB.
There have been some names mentioned that were great football players, but were not mean people. There's difference between a hard hitting player and a down right mean person. Art Cantrell was a down right mean dude.
Art would rather go out and get drunk and fight than do anything else. He loved it. With all the attention players get now for being in bar fights, Art Cantrell would not have made it past his freshman year. I haven't seen Art in years. I'm glad to have read EWE's post, and learned Art's still around. Mean SOB, but he also was a damm good football player that left everything on the field.
Sigh. I'll get over you. I promise. Tell your wife what a sacrifice I've made, and I'll tell my husband of 38 years.
Maybe next time. Besides, I haven't really fought since, well, leisure suits were "in". I usually yelled loud enough to suffice. Really gotta take Mom her lunch now.
