Nebraska? Really? Who wants to go play football in Nebraska??? Seems like a no brainer

He’s also a 5* basketball player and although Nebraska had a great year, they aren’t some blue blood basketball program. He has to have some random connection to them.

Most of the numbers surrounding NIL (for all schools, for all sports) are total bullshite.

Has to be. One article will tell you a team offered 1 guy $7m and the next says the most expensive rosters in basketball ran $12m. I get that could be rev share before NIL, but it still seems far fetched. Who knows tho.
Skip was ahead of his time, which is why he dominated. The stuff he was doing then is now common practice and even elementary to the coaches/players today. You have 12u travel ball kids getting coaching on launch angles, exit velos, and spin rates. Something as simple as a sports physiologist won’t be very transformational for most guys these days.

We missed the window. We aren't competing w Houston, Denver, San Antonio, Minny, or OKC for 4-5 years

Disappointing, but true. Wild that all these teams are set up better now and for the future.
I love how Tenn was laughing about the whole thing then blew the lead

The pitching was fantastic all weekend. We almost gave up more unearned runs than earned runs.

Not a word. He never cared to engage the fans when he was employed by LSU so this is no surprise

You really had to go out of your way to even know what his voice sounded like after 4 years of being here. He basically barely even existed… there is really no surprise it didn’t work out just based off of that.

Basically his biggest downfall was getting Ben Simmons here.

Right. There was actually plenty to be excited about before the Ben Simmons year. We just made the tournament and the program looked to be on the upswing, but JJ didn’t have the personality to handle the train wreck of really big time basketball. If instead of getting Simmons and Blakeney, he returned Mickey and Martin there is no telling how much longer he would’ve been the coach.

The traditional recruiting he did no longer exists. In basketball, you not only have the agents for NIL, but AAU and it’s politics and scumbag coaches and then the shoe and apparel companies and their NIL deals with HS players that often funnel them to programs that rep the same brands.

You think Ben Simmons, Antonio Blakeney, Jordan Mickey and Jarrell Martin came here for free?
That would be a dumb move on LSU and McMohan’s part. That’s like Paul Mainieri replacing Torina. It’s two different sports.
He talked a good bit this year about needing a different culture with his team. Going to be a lot of new faces for both Wade and LSU. Considering his track record, I have no doubt he will figure it out. Going to be fun to keep up with LSU roster moves again

They will be back to tell us why Wade going 9-9 in his first year back is worse than CMM going 3-15.

When we don’t make the sweet 16 in year 1, they will tell us they told us so that Wade isn’t going to win a championship here..

It’s still wild this is happening. A lot of people kept hoping, but most said to forget he exists… he’s back.
You could always tell that Wade had a genuine love for LSU and Louisiana. He embraced the state and culture like he was from here. Saying that he had to return “home”, tells you it wasn’t an act. He’s an honorary coonass for life.

Not for engineering

Savhir Wheelers dad called Wade the Elon Musk of basketball. Guess he ment he’s actually into engineering, not basketball.

He’s going to need $7 million to keep Jalen Reed

The career 9 ppg player who can’t stay healthy? I’d be shocked if he even wants him back. People made excuses for Matt having to recruit so many players in year one, I would be shocked if Wade wants to bring back more than 2 guys on this roster.

terrible situation.

It’s going to be hilarious when Wade instantly fixes the “terrible situation” he caused.
I miss being hated in college basketball. Being relevant was awesome. The sold out crowd in the PMAC is going to be electric.

If it only it were an enormous part of the coach’s job to…get players

I thought their only job was drawing up inbounds plays?

Why not? I believe it was closer than most think before deciding to go pro. Maybe CJJ flips Milam back to 2B.... or maybe he keeps Milam at SS for his final season with Konnor taking over next year.

He would be a sophomore this year. Milam never plays SS if he makes it to campus. They are also on two completely different levels as players. One will be a career minor leaguer and the other will be a consistent All Star and potential league MVP.

Thinking Konnor would be plugged in at 1B, maybe 3B. But the entire dynamics of the team changes.

You can’t be serious, right?
Early season baseball rankings are usually pretty dumb and extremely reactionary. They are all over the place every week.
