Agreed. And we do like to run fun plays here and there. Dude is a 6'8" and probably not done growing. I can definitely picture situationals with him.

quote:100% this. We are not far enough in to truly have a good system in place to rank this stuff. Focus should be on filling holes and trying to improve or at least maintain equal talent to our departing players.
Do not worry about the rankings

Good question. It's very hard to imagine a guy that size with the mobility necessary. Maybe he can take the Proctor plays. Line him up as a lead blocker on short yardage. Defense would be making business decisions.
My final response to you. I guess working an hour on your post deserves that much. Looks like your feelings are hurt.
Apologies to the board. I'm done with this douche canoe.
quote:You are clearly an alter, posting from your pulpit hoping for a bite. Your writing is easily identified. I'm the fool for biting, wasting everyone's time for your entertainment. You are also a liar and a pedantic bore.
Bait? What are you talking about?
quote:Your "quote" is an outright lie. Show everyone where i wrote this quote.
“in the weightroom and no resume”
quote:Another lie. Show me the quote where I said they were the best in the conference. You asked for names that I consider better and I provided them. Seems like I upset you. It's ok to melt, it happens to everyone, but we were asked to stay on topic. Give your ego and narcissism a rest.
Then you proceed to name Miggy from OU who works with OLB’s only and the guy at AU, who really doesn’t have a resume: he was a SA/GA at Liberty and Analyst at AU for 1 season, as being the best DL coaches in the conference.
Apologies to the board. I'm done with this douche canoe.
quote:I think that’s the the best strategy long term. Player’s looking to increase their market value are going to work harder. They’re more likely to have that chip on their shoulder. They’re going to be more receptive to coaching.
Seems we are following the Indiana game plan signing pretty much all 3 stars.

I took his bait for a bit. I’m bored with him. I will stick to the topic.
quote:You are incorrect. Yes the NC. Discipline won that more than anything. Alabama was the only team committed to that season. The downgrade in coaching and recruiting was already rolling.
hardly the “end of the Saban era” and when he was having difficulty hiring assistants.
quote:And you provided one stat. One. And if his assessment was anything out of the ordinary he would be in demand. Right?
The most prominent/accurate way position coaches are assessed is by the production and development of the players they coached.
quote:No. I do not concede. Adequate at best. Nothing special. Keep rolling along to the sound of your own voice. You definitely enjoy it.
Will you concede that his development of lower rated recruits along with guys who were considered “busts” until they played for him is somewhat impressive?

quote:I suspect this will happen within a year, two at the most. I’m aware of the discussion happening on LSU’s staff.
I'm starting to wonder when the first school will decide to sign ZERO HS kids and just allocate 100% of their resources to signing guys out of the portal.
Often thrown out, never self assessed.
How about an elementary stat. How many teams have come seeking his services? You cite Saban who himself admitted that getting coaches in his last years was tough. It’s not the boon you think it is.

Apparently that did not suffice

They've presented his deal as $25 mil a year for four years. I suspect it's more like $100 mil in four years applied as he sees fit. They do not have unlimited funds. They sure do walk around here acting like it though. LSU fans always do this. They set themselves up for the fall every time.
Providing a single metric and admit it is only one measure as if it proves anything at all. That's laughable. You either are FR or YSTAR is bored and made an alter.
Chavis, Blackwell, King-Williams is rapidly rising. I could go on. I'm not down on FR. Like I said, he's a good guy and a decent coach. I don't hate him but he's not progressing as a coach and his poduct isn't top tier.

Yeah, Freddie is a good dude but he is most certainly not on par with the best in the conference. Laughable take.
Let's not pretend that OM isn't throwing money around purely to try and show up LSU. They won't sustain it.

According to some sources, we have essentially the same payroll as Indiana in 2025.

I agree except maybe the oil guys. Those guys wipe with hundred dollar bills. In any case, most of the tier 1 programs have zero to show for what they've spent. There are thousands of players and fixed roster sizes so the talent is there. You just have to be wise with spending and consistent with coaching. Even so, quality of play is falling off rapidly. The product is becoming unwatchable.
They have a single donor. And they are throwing everything at the wall right now. The fans believe that funding is unlimited but that's simply untrue. If Kiffin doesn't produce that program will die quickly. The arguement can be made that even if he does produce it still ends quickly.

My contention is that nothing can be proven. It would come down to the athletes giving up their info. There’s some precedent for kids getting out of contracts.

quote:And there's the catch(s). All schools must sign it. And even if they do, I would expect fallback to the good old days. Schools will look the other way (no reporting) , athletes will deny (their income is private) and the agreements are just about as worthless as the paper they are written on.
If all schools sign this there is nothing a player or their agent can do.
quote:Given the USSC's ruling, this is pretty much impossible. I'm not knocking your POV. I just don't see an end that doesn't involve total destruction and rebuild from the ground up.
take the power away from the players
Agree with pretty much all of this except:
quote:I think this is exactly why we courted Cam Coleman. Unless we were just having him visit to stir AU up which is certainly possible.
Alabama is not going to overpay so us fans can’t thump our chest about portal rankings.
