10 Kickoffs - 1 return

Posted by meauxdad on 9/1/19 at 7:23 pm
When was the last time you heard of a college team kicking off 10 times with the other team only returning 1 kick?

Wow! Da Tigaz have one H.. of a kickoff artist!
Way to Geaux !!
they don't need your $....or the support of a fair-weather fan.

come on....coaching at this level is about relationships.....and i'll bet Miles final reputation outshines his predecessor's.
Cuz Les does it with class....Goes the extra 'Miles' with the recruit vs a promise from SabanClaus.

Totally Agree with the LOL.

I wonder how 'Nicholas Lou' ...would do... if he had to rely on home-grown backs?

DH is a transplant.
JC is a transfer (via special rule).

We all know that every high school recruit still believe's in St. Nic? I bet NS signs the commitment
'St. Nicholas', and calls it the 'SabanClaus'.

lol lol lol lol ......

Come on, don't you know that every high school star still believe's in St. Nic? I wonder what he really tells em, before they sign.
Dont hold your breath.

And BTW, I thought the Man that gave you breath was in charge of the future!

Sounds like those TN hills are gettn' 2ya.

sounds like your opinions come from where plankton grows.
2 decisions
1 made; 1 not

Miles is staying (decision made)
Heisman: (decision Not made)
Fournette's comparison to DH @ AL needs to be equalized, in light of all the recent hoopla.
DH is is loving all the attention on him, while the same hipe is on Leonard's coach.

So, as my Dad used to say... 'get on with it'!
Can we do anything about El 'LES' Shu coach? No!
Can we influence the Heisman..who knows? Maybe.

Here are some interesting facts re: DH and FL.
There are many others. Bring em on!

Both DH and LF are in a class of their own.

DH is a transplant to AL from FL
LF is home grown in LA
DH's fastest time in the 100 meter in HS was 11.11
LF's fastest time in the 100 meter in HS was 10.68
LF also ran the 200 meter;only dropping 0.21(21.57).
D..., that's fast!

DH ran the ball almost every down in HS, and it looks like he's doing the same at AL.
Regardless of the final decision, the experts know the real diff in these H-candidates lies in the hands of the OL.

Looking back at the disasterous AL game,LSU's Offensive front and AL's D-7 ...
100% of Bama’s starting 7 front defenders were ranked in top 10 after HS; 4 were in the top 5.

Only 3 of LSU's blocking 7 (OL, FB, & TE) were in the top 10 out of HS.
Not an excuse, a reality...that LF couldn't help.

Either way, LF is faster than DH, and 9 out of 10 sports casters know that LF is harder to bring down.

Let's move on...and start promoting Leonard...our own 'home-grown'man, deserving of the Heisman!

However, it is interesting that even though DH has had an illustrious career in HS and ncaa, that there are a couple of things to note regarding their chosen universities and their speed...

We need an OC who understands NCAA football...not the NFL. Keep Les! Cam's gotta geaux!
Regardless of our opinion of Coach Miles, he has 'class', and is loved by his players.
Whatever happens, we'll never look at the Tiger chant the same again....

El 'LES' Shu!
El 'LES' Shu!
El 'LES' Shu!
nope, but why a tiger fan is wearing blue and red from the UK, is anyone's guess.
ok, 'owl man'.
u must be a serious fellow!

I guess you love the way both your qb's played Sat.

Why did Miles go to the bank this week?

Les Miles and Winston Churchill

All great leaders (and teams) have had to be humbled before true greatness evolves.

In the past year or so, I believe Coach Miles and the Tiger coaching staff decided it was time the LSU Offense needed to be the emphasis in the Tiger Land , without sacrificing the standard of a strong, quick defense, for which LSU has become nationally known.

Other than the 'blow out's at Tiger stadium this year, both the first and last opponents we faced show that both LSU's offense and defense are 'in transition'.

Who could have foreseen that the inconsistency of #10, that would pave the way for the unexpected and pre-mature playing time by the true freshman, Harris.

When #6 unexpectedly was thrust into the limelight to the 'top of the world’ by the media and Tiger Nation. All of us, to some degree, set up our young, stud QB, only to be brought down to his knees (literally), this past weekend. It's all our fault... not just his, or the coaches.

THE GOOD NEWS is.... the Tigers are in the infant stages of building what could be an offensive juggernaut for the future. You may be laughing at that right now. Well,so am I, especially after the historic beating we took on 10/4/14.
But, something tells me that we should mark that date... not because it's some type of 9-11 event... but because it could mark a 'turning point' in LSU's football history... 'a date that lives in infamy'.

Such a phrase reminds me of one of 'the greats' in history, who got his butt kicked, but didn't give up.
'Old bulldog' Winston Churchill !

Why did he decide to join up with America 70 yrs ago, in the initial stages of WW II? Because he and England were getting their butts kicked (royally) by the aggressors! Equivalent to a football score of 100-0. He could have given up, after all the losses, and the compaining of his countrymen, and the continued chants for his resignation.(sound familiar?)

But, after licking his wounds, he knew he wasn't giving up. He was too smart and tough. He was just 'in transition' to the next phase in victory. So, he joined forces with the US Military and helped design a strategy that eventually was victorious, and brought the hated aggressors to their knees.

To me... Miles and Cameron, and all the Tiger coaching staff and LSU's AD, are like Winston Churchill. They don't give up, and they don't want you to give up either! They are winners!
If you're in doubt, do a little history and check the win-loss record the last decade. As Tiger supporters, must have this same attitude!

My Dad used to tell me... 'anyone can complain...it's the easiest thing on the planet! I recently realized that even my dog can complain (when he's hungry and it's lightning outside). I love to complain, but my wife reminds me of what my dad said. It's starting to sink in finally.

What we need now in the Tiger Nation, are fans of faith.. Fans of vision...Fans who trust their leaders, in both victory and defeat!

The young Tiger offense is in its infant stages, and I believe the coaching staff knows exactly what they're doing! A major transition like this take time....from a Defensive- emphasis, to an Offenseive-lead team, resulting in a truly-balanced attack, that will be next-to-impossible to beat!

But, it takes a year (or more) for the planning and recruiting to take effect, and for the 'young guns' to grow into their talent. Who knows, we might just look back 20 years from now, and describe 'The Mad Hatter' as an offensive genius! You never know!

I might be crazy, but I might be right, too!
Only time will tell.

All great teams (and leaders) have had to be humbled before true greatness shows itself.

After 10 years, I believe the Tiger coaching staff has finally decided that the offense is going to be the emphasis at LSU (eventually).

No one could have foreseen that #10 would be inconsistent, paving the way for 'pre-mature' playing time by the true freshman Harris.
However, with Harris' play the 2 games prior to the big ‘away game’ last Sat, the freshman ‘got seasoned’ earlier than expected.

But real life is usually like this. Coaches have to go with what they have, since they can't get out on the field and make the plays. And, when the unexpected one (BH), was thrust to the ‘top of the world’ by the media and the Tiger nation, it was only natural to be brought down to his knees (literally), the next week.

But, to me, the good news is, the Tigers are building an offensive juggernaut, for the future. One might laugh at that notion, after the historic beating we took on 10/4/14. But, I believe we should mark this date, not because it's some type of 9-11 event, but because humility has a way of creating greatness!

Even though the young tiger offense is in its infant stages now, I personally believe the coaching staff knows exactly what they're doing, and with a transition from defense-oriented team to an offense-oriented team, it takes a year or two for the recruiting to 'kick in', and the young guns to grow into their talent, where it may become 'old hat' for Tiger fans to describe the 'Mad Hatter' as an offensive genius.

I belive we'll all look back to the game this past Saturday, and possibly the 2014 season, that could LSU's transition year, that put them in the driver's seat to becoming an offensive juggernaut, expected to win the conference and even another national title, sometime in the next 4 years.

But this time, it will be the big 'O', not the defense, that puts the tigers back on top.

I can't wait til this young, talented offensive unit, with its running backs, receivers, and versitile young QB, will be the envy of the SEC and the nation.

I might be crazy. But, I might be right, too.
Only time will tell.

Keep it up, Coach. We have faith in you!
