That's the state of Florida's job - not Disney's - and I don't like Disney

They're betting on us to win - lsu/usc should be higher ranked at that time, it also gives the 2 qb's their network is saying are the best, and it is homecoming - they're waiting for that one or atm

Mine did. 3rd gen. she didn't go to any welcome week stuff - rush was going on. To the person that mentioned entrance exam scores - 33 act 1370 sat - 3+3 - she's smarter than you...

I can see them tackling injunctions here - roberts asked plaintiff's attorney how many times do we (USSC) have to tell them (district judges) how to handle injunctions - very telling comment imo - I think they will at a minimum seriously hamstring that process awaiting legislation. I think they'll punt on citizenship and force it to be its own case.

needs to apply to congress - no term limits there is worse than a president getting 3

I don't think there is any way they link these 2 issues in 1 opinion - thankfully there is a conservative leaning majority that I believe will split the issues here - each issue needs its own decision - they are too important to tie together in one opinion
re: Supreme Court Live re Birthright Citizenship and Nationwide Injunctions
Posted by htowntyger on 5/15/25 at 11:04 am to IvoryBillMatt
Agree - that's what they are deciding - birthright citizenship as a constitutional right is a big enough issue on its own - both of these issues deserve to be fully briefed and argued on their own merits - fyi I am against nationwide injunctions and do not believe "subject to the jurisdiction thereof" confers birthright citizenship to non-citizens

I'm not so sure. From seeing Roberts step over Sonia to hearing his remarks about how many times they have to tell district judges I'm optimistic right now - if roberts votes the right way the decision will go the right way

Haven't listened to a word Kiper has said since he ripped the colts for drafting Faulk - then Polian got on air immediately afterwards and put Mel in his place - then Faulk has a HOF career

The best part was early on when the ignorant were laughing saying everything Trump was doing was going to get tied up in court and portraying the situation as if that had never been considered when the strategy was clearly to get many things to scotus asap

exactly - they are asking for a subsidy but calling it unity and order

There never has been and never will be a bigger bada$$ than a WW2 marine.
It's them at #1, every other WW2 serviceman #2 and they are so far ahead the rest of the list doesn't matter.
Undoubtedly the greatest generation - fortunate and proud to have them as grandparents.

Pete was before my time so he's more of a mythical figure for me.
like a Babe Ruth would be in baseball.
Just a god that was hanging out with mere mortals.
I'm not much younger than Shaq so I remember him well at LSU.
Shaq was dominant and amazing to see, but there is just something about legends before your time that just have a special aura about them.
you stole my answer - was at dale's camp when Pete was supposed to be the guest/keynote speaker but passed away - had pizza every night with Shaq and Vernel that week on the steps of Kirby - one is mythical to me - the other a legend I was able to interact with - dad was in school with Pete - his stories are great - no wrong answer here

I'd go better than pretty good - especially for a true freshman - he will be a great leader for the rb room
re: Catholic baws: what are your favorite hymns, Christmas or otherwise?
Posted by htowntyger on 12/20/24 at 10:52 am to Ingeniero
You nailed it. One of the best parts of Christmas is the first notes of O Come All Ye Faithful as the mass entrance starts.
Silent Night is up there for me because we inherited a tradition from wife's family of singing it together on Christmas Eve.
