This isn’t recruiting.
Could look into it again during the spring portal if that’s still a thing.

That is not a thing. No spring portal.

Auburn. News has been out for a while.
Good for UK. They need the help.

Maybe, but let’s pump the brakes. Haven’t even played a game yet.

All we can do at this point is speculate. Of course we have to play the games. Every team does.

But if we end with those two...I think this is the best team, BY FAR....since 2019.

Either way, this is going to be a blast!
I think the kid from Southern is going to be a CB.

Always need numbers at CB and Edge. Never have enough. They are unique because the success of one directly correlates to the success of the other.
Is he solid in tackling a scrambling QB?

Room, yes. Catches? None.

What place was LSU last year in the portal?

This misses the point in the worst way.

Yes, the overall portal per player was good. But it didn’t mesh. It didn’t have an identity as to what Brian Kelly wanted to do because Bryan Kelly didn’t have a concrete plan in place.

Lane Kiffin has a plan for the players he has brought on board. Some are play right away, summer development, some are give the opportunity to see what they can do.

And the honest answer is, if the best players we brought on board were really good in 2025 (and most were not) They were all out of eligibility this year.

If the best players that Kiffin has brought on board work out, most will have at least one more year of eligibility.

It is possible that next year we don’t go into the portal for a quarterback, depending on what happens with Pop Houston.

The ideal scenario is that Leavitt is the consensus number one pick in the draft and we will be rolling with Longstreet for 2027.

No. There is no room for him.

Tap the breaks. Just a teeny tiny bit! This is basically a whole new team that’s gotta all come together and figure out what the hell they are doing. That’s tough to do.

Almost every team is like that...
Both teams need to be 2-0...but it'll be a huge game.

Networks sell story lines, not games. They are going to be searching for the one liners coming from Ole Miss coaches and players dissing Kiffin and looking for the best Trolling coming from Kiffin.

It will be great if Devin Harper and Winnie Watkins are starting for us...and Carius Curne is starting for them. The more drama they can sell, the better.

Hotty Toddy vs GTHOM.

re: Criticism of our past OL

They chose to leave — or were invited to by the new regime. Either way, don’t blame posters.

Once they leave, I don’t care about them.

I get the desire to bring in a RB and QB transfer who can give you a solid year immediately and its a bonus if he has multiple years of eligibility.

In the age of the transfer portal, will a school miss out on a 5 star QB (especially) or RB if that school brings in a high level transfer who has multiple years of eligibility left?

Of course...5 star players are not going to go where they can't play immediately, in most cases. The key is to recruit good players out of high school, maybe not 5 stars, so you can always have 3 talented QBs on the roster.

OL retention was important because OL is never heavy pickings in the portal. I fear this is just going to be a problem for us this year that Lane's going to have to scheme around. Hopefully some guys drop in the portal soon. We really needed to get Adams and Curne back based on what we snagged in the portal. Moore was our best OL retained him but we kept our worst one in Davis.

But...in 2022, when we started 2 Freshmen at OT for the majority of the season, they didn't have any snaps. Not to say these guys will be like those players, but its not always about the number of snaps a guy has played. They have to be developed, they have the to be prepared, they have to learn how to communicate. All of those qualities lacked the past two years.

Don't sleep on Jordan Ross. He disrupts things.

I agree with this..and we'll probably play 6--so the competition will be pretty fierce. Who knows what the rotation will be at the end of the year.
