re: QB Play heading into 2017

With a new offensive coordinator and the quarterback position being LSU's Achilles heel, it's a guarantee that the qb position will be open competition next spring

Baton Rouge and a struggling alcoholic not a good mix

Combination of five star athletes and coaches

You are truly an optimist! I guess you could say it's possible, but highly unlikely. Do you honestly think this offense will beat Alabama,Texas A&M, Old Miss,or Arkansas. There defenses will take away LSU's best offensive weapon Leonard Fournette. They will load the box and make LSU pass.
re: Looking for excuses: Did the Baton Rouge tragedies kill the team's spirit?
Posted by greyhound77 on 9/25/16 at 10:25 am to LsuNav
No, that would be Les Miles/ Cam Cameron that did that
re: Admit it, most of you fell for it

I did believe LSU would barely win against Auburn, but even if LSU did get the last play off before the clock ran out , it wouldn't be a win to brag about. Still the same poor offensive performance.
re: Loss 100% on players. Not Miles. Not coaches. Not plays. Not fraud clock guy.
Posted by greyhound77 on 9/25/16 at 10:14 am to Meauxjeaux
Is this Les Miles? This is the same offensive performance that we've grown accustom to, and the same time management that we've seen for 10 years.

This loss May seal the firing of Les Miles
re: Brees, Rivers, Flacco, Mettenburger.......and Etling

Quarterbacks are developed in high school and college. When they get to the NFL an offensive philosophy is built around them
re: Are you back on the Les Bandwagon?
Posted by greyhound77 on 9/19/16 at 4:47 pm to Lionnation1993
Oh hell no, we opened SEC play with a reverse. And a typical Les Miles 2nd half.
re: Every good quarterback under Les Miles didn't spend his first 2 years with him

Says Les, that's not a trustworthy source.
re: Miles will Turn this around

360 degrees that's the only turn around miles will do
re: Ohio St started 0-1 and ran the table to win National Championship!
Posted by greyhound77 on 9/4/16 at 3:57 pm to CapperVin
Ohio St. had two advantages on their side, A weak Conference, they have the best talent, and a knowledgeable head coach willing to make any changes necessary to win the game. LSU has neither of those luxuries.
re: How many more times will we get fooled by Miles?
Posted by greyhound77 on 9/4/16 at 9:31 am to FiddleHead
Though a loss is hard to take, it probably happened at the best time. Losing the first game helps all the dreamer fans put things in perspective. It can get some wins but it is limited, and it is not the #5 ranked SEC West contender. This teams ceiling is 10 wins. You can moan cry and disagree all you want, but if you want to see the development of an offense, watch Alabama from game 1 to the end of the season

re: The only saving grace we have at QB is....
Posted by greyhound77 on 9/4/16 at 9:14 am to Hammond Tiger Fan
LSU could have the best quarterback in college football, and he would limited to what he could do because of play-calling and the style of offense. LSU has the talent to play with anybody but not the coaching and Player Development needed on the offensive side of the ball
re: The more I think about it the more I think Cam needs to stay
Posted by greyhound77 on 12/30/15 at 8:57 am to Nature Boy
Quarterback development. That's 100% on Camerons back. Not getting the job done
re: Les said he would fix the offense and he did!
Posted by greyhound77 on 12/30/15 at 8:42 am to CptBengal
Anyone who believes this win signifies a turnaround for next season is delusional. Texas Tech has worst run defense. Harris completes 12 passes, Cameron being on the sideline got us 12 completions. I think in the box it was about the same. Les did to Texas Tech what he does to all inferior opponent. He can't do it to top tier teams. Glad for the bowl win, because we didn't need another bowl loss, but it means nothing as too turning the offense around. Look at his Texas bowl interview. He attributes the three games slide in the season to injuries and personnel loss, not to his offensive philosophy. So in saying all this, did he really fix the offense? I THINK NOT
re: Miles needs to do make some coaching changes in the off season
Posted by greyhound77 on 10/4/15 at 5:04 pm to nitwit
I guess you're happy with 7 to 10 winso a season and no national title in sight.
re: What if LSU wins ugly all the way to the playoffs?

Yeah I come to the conclusion last year the only thing holding LSU back is Les Miles

That's true, Jennings reminds me of Jordan Jefferson

We just know what's going to eventually happen. When LSU gets down a couple of scores and has to pass, it's all over.
re: Cam Cameron On The Hot Seat?
Posted by greyhound77 on 1/23/15 at 11:44 am to LSUGlory16
I see other schools in the SEC recruit and develop qb's with problem. example Alabama, look at Lane Kiffin. He takes Alabama to the playoffs, and legitamentally has a chance to win the game if Alabama's defense could have stopped Ohio states run game. Until I see a change, I expect to see the SOS .
re: 2015 QB development & what it means....
Posted by greyhound77 on 1/20/15 at 4:51 pm to lsusteve1
Les will do the same thing he's done for the past 10 years. he'll rely on his power run game. LSU will open with McNeese he'll put up 400 yards rushing 75 passing. LSU will just power the football through all the non conference games, then conference play will start and will be at the same place we were in 2014. before I die I would like to see LSU lose a game because they had too much passing and not enough of a run game. Like 30-42 attempts with 550 yards five touchdowns. And after the game people would say man if only had a running game we would have a good team
re: LSU needs proven quarterback coach
Posted by greyhound77 on 1/16/15 at 8:25 pm to Malaysian Tiger
just as some coaches can't transition to NFL, some NFL coaches can't transition to college. meaning it's a little different to take a quarterback out of high school and develop him for the position. In the NFLl they're basically teaching them an offensive philosophy and reading defenses, and honing their skills, all the basics are there. breeze and rivers are freaks. I don't want to say he didn't contribute anything to them, but he had a lot to work with. They're basically OC 's on the field.

let's not go crazy. Les can be the tightend coach.
re: LSU needs proven quarterback coach
Posted by greyhound77 on 1/16/15 at 6:47 pm to Fratigerguy
the fact is, LSU not having a good quarterback is the reason Nick Saban has three national championships, and Miles has one.
re: LSU needs proven quarterback coach
Posted by greyhound77 on 1/16/15 at 6:44 pm to UnAnon
so getting top recruits equals what? Let's look at his two seasons at LSU's offensive coordinator. First season ok, second season, terrible. look at Jennings stats from Outback Bowl and Music City Bowl. where's the quarterback development I don't see it.
LSU needs proven quarterback coach
Posted by greyhound77 on 1/16/15 at 6:11 pm
LSU needs to add a proven quarterback coach for quarterback development.I can't see anything changing offensively unless this is done.Matt Flynn was the best quarterback Miles had but he was a Saban recruit. Zack Mettenberger 's last season was pretty good, but miles has struggled to develop quarterbacks basically his whole tenure at LSU. A top quarterback coach to focus solely on developing quarterbacks would go a long way in the Tigers quest for an SEC Championship and possibly national championship.

Alabama's linebackers got exposed in the Sugar Bowl against Ohio State..
re: What did Chavis D rank in his last yr at Tenn

to put Kevin Steele in the same class as John Chavis is laughable. Chavis had proven success before LSU.
